Post subject:  5 minutes is 4 minutes too long

So I admit I've been absent from the forums for quite a while.  Well I missed it a great deal so voila I came back.

Upon my triumphant return....... I've come to realize that SW is universally HATED on this forum or at least that's my perception of it.  Everywhere SW commented I saw at LEAST 2 people jumping on him, and yes I saw his ..... unique comments as well.

Now I'm not saying whether he needed to be put in his place or not, but what I am saying is that I've been here 5 minutes and already it's old.

Something's got to give don't you think?  I mean you all have endured it much longer than I so I'm sure you've GOT to be sick of the bickering by now.

Does anyone have any ideas on why it's happening and even more importantly, any ideas on how to get it to stop?

He'll eventually bite his own foot off just like another bigdog of the forum did & be booted.  Sometimes these things just got to be waited out.  Enough complaints to the mods i'm sure will bring results as well.

first off welcome back Magz   its great to have you back, long may it continue. there are two issues here as I see it...
1. Sidewinder engages fingers/mouth before brain is in gear
2. All the men in these forums are really women in disguise cos no matter how often its been suggested they ignore the offender they have to have the last say ;-)

Magz, you're right. I joined this forum not too long ago to learn from others and to share experiences like the rest of us do.

It was shortly after joining that i noticed SW's posts as being negative- then very egotistical. I watched as others politely and not-so-politely inform him of his pessimistic-ego and to get him to post "nicely" and not try to correct everyone on everything- even though he's wrong 99% of the time.

I admit, i've added not-so-flattering comments to him because HE ANNOYS ME and i wish he'd go away because HE POSTS TOO MUCH- and asks a lot of stupid questions IMO- perhaps exactly what he wants- to annoy others...

Yes there are a few others that are sick of him and i thought somewhere along the way he'd get another warning and hopefully get booted from this forum, but that still is yet to happen. His recent posts are a little more tamed lately.

I realise i haven't contributed much here lately so i'm inclined to take a break, as you did, and return when this forum gets back to "normal". I joined this forum to help me unwind after my shows before bed but NOW have decided that TIVO is the answer lol

Apologies to everyone on my negative posts- it's not indicative of my true nature.
Aloha  J.R.

What I don't understand is if one person is stirring the crap enough to rile most he responds to up, why do they still exist?

OUCH! So it is simply a matter of gender that keeps me biting that bait over and over again.  In an attempt to innocently edify some who apparently have poor/incomplete/inaccurate information or knowledge, I have come to realize that one must identify the need for edification before accepting it. So, the game is over. When I look at the active threads, I will see who is the last entry and let that govern whether I read or skip. Will let my morbid sense of humor take a break for a while.

But I'll enjoy yours!  Thanks for the chuckle...Now I'm off to be hung, drawn, and quartered meself!

The biggest problem with SW is that he had that strange ability to make people not liking him. And he seem to like doing it; posts after posts. Yet if you take any one of his posts, he breaks no rules. But reading a thread where he post make one feel like kicking him in the azz. I just wish there is an Ignore Button in this forum.

He is a REAL KJ. Take my words for it. He thinks that he is safe behind his screen name, but this is internet and its not that difficult to pin-point his location.

I have not had the pleasure of dealing with SW yet.  I tend to avoid people that are not nice. It's a shame though that there are people that seem to enjoy agitating others.  I stopped going into SS because there was so much negativity there, which is a shame because there are so many great singers there.

Hey Magz!! Welcome back!! Always good to see you around.

He hasnt had the misfortune of coming up against me yet.

Actually alot of what he says are very salient points and makes alot of sense. Its just in his holier than thou attitude that people get PO'd.

But give him enough rope-----Just as we did Mr. BD and he too will get 86'd.....and probabaly in muich the same way.

Post subject:  Re: 5 minutes is 4 minutes too long

I don't want the same thing to happen to SW as happened to BD.  There are things to learn from everyone who has experience, particularly if their experience is greater or different than mine.

For instance, I have never been to a karaoke venue that has or needs a bouncer.  I have never been to a karaoke venue that has had a fight during a karaoke show.  As a result of many posts of SW, when I consider a venue that I might like to do a show at, I now contemplate if it is the type of place where fights and other disruptions are common?  Clearly, that possibility would dampen my interest in working there.

So, I will glean from his posts anything that might benefit me and my show.  I have even benefited from re-evaluating ideas that I completely disagree with him about.  But in no manner will I ever respond directly to him.
