I wanted to share with some of you this great insurance company that offers wide ranges of coverage for your DJ/KJ business:

I dont know how may of you have insurance, or will consider getting it, it is priced well, and can save you so much in grief, and total loss if anything happens to your equipment ect.

What are you specifically looking to insure? If you're looking to insure your CDGs (being lost, stolen, damaged), I don't think you will have much luck getting a replacement value for them. There are old threads (somewhere in here... or is that in the other Forum where I post frequently?) that talks about that (and what these Insurance Companies DON'T give).

all i know is...

-my homeowners insurance covers theft of equipment out of my car.

-my car insurance covers damage to vehicle but not contents of.

-my GL business insurance covers damages to persons who are harmed by my business- but has restrictions on equip coverage.

Cueball, it would be great if you remember and post what others have said.

JR

It is my recommendation that you be most concerned about GL insurance, particularly if you do private gigs!  Apparently you have that coverage.  Make sure that the limits of liability is at least $1,000,000 per person, and have as high a limit  as you can afford for the "in the aggregate" coverage (which usually doesn't increase the cost much)!

Thanks Eric. I've been carrying $1,000,000 and $5,000,000 aggregate insurance for many many years- had to discontinue moonbounces/ ALL inflatables in my business due to the skyrocketing insurance a couple years back. I now have the client assume the risks on their property.

I actually have 3 different policys for GL- there were only so many added-insured venues that you can add on, and my hotel-chains contracts wanted their own policies.
Naturally my prices reflected those increases.    J.R.
