that's a good question... there's no "quick" way of doing it, but I had a thought it might have to deal with a modification of a rectangle.. and it seems it does.. how about this.. for some ideas at least.. I don't know.. http://grimegraphics.com/inkscape/sunbu ... -tutorial/ now you got me wanting triangles weeeeeeeee |

Use Paint and free form select.. Download colorcop to get the color and fill cut area with background color.. This is crude but works.. |

I have been experimenting with Gimp imaging software. With Gimp you can create a triangular shape using the 'Path' tool and then select the portion of the photo using the 'path' created. You then can cut and paste that triangular image into a new image. Gimp is available at http://www.gimp.org/ I cropped this image and pasted to a white background... http://www.karaoke-forum.com/album_showpage.php?pic_id=4306 Not sure if this is what you are wanting as it seems the image file is still saved as a rectangular shape complete with the background. I don't know how one would save just the triangular part of an image. |

Try this page Vicki. I downloaded this a while ago and I'm not sure now where I downloaded it from. http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html By The way, this was the original photo I cropped from... http://www.karaoke-forum.com/album_showpage.php?pic_id=4307 Hmmm.... was just reading another post of yours Vicki and realise you don't have broadband! That could be a problem... this install program around 17MB if I recall! |

Morgan, you can make the triangle very easily on the Photoshop. First you take the photo in to Photoshop, preferable CS2 or CS3. Create a layer and fill with black. Then create a duplicate layer of the picture layer, (ctrl-j for mac and command-j for PC). Then you create a mask layer. On mask layer, make sure click the mask layer not the picture, select black as your color, go to polygon tools, select 3 sides and create a triangle. If you don't like what you see, you can delete the mask layer and start over. That should give you a triangle picture with black background. |

how incredible a coincidence is this... I am sitting here mucking around with photoshop and there comes a knock at my door. There stands a really dishy (I mean gorgeous) graphic designer who just happened to call in to return some cd's of my sons. I rushed into his embrace and told him how glad my photoshop fairy had sent him to me...he has just shown me how to do what I want to do in photoshop. thank you all for your help...hmmm the hug felt sooo good too strange coincidence though, cos I havent seen him in like 4 months and had been told he had left town |

Oops, I better get those pics off to you eh Vicki! Good to see you got that Photoshop sorted out. I have yet to get around to learning enough of Gimp to make any real use of it... still taking the easy road with Irfanview! I have a couple of photos taken inside the tunnel/cave at Cathedral Cove, one with the exposure set right for the interior, which overexposes the entrance. Just gotta work out how to cut the properly exposed entrance out of the other photo and paste it in! Sorry to hear that your op has been delayed yet again... That's gotta be getting a bit frustrating for ya! |

I may have to drive there myself and just kinda hang around till I am concious enuff to drive home again |
