Post subject:  Questions about connections between components and cabling

Hi,

After a few weeks of reading and searching on the forum, I finally have something to start building my karaoke system. Now I have Behringer 802 and Lexicon MX200, home theater amplifier, speakers, and laptop.  Although I need PA speakers and amplifier based on the recommendation from the forum to avoid damaging my speakers, I will just throw some cheap and unused speakers from the closet for now and plan to upgrade later. Now I will need a bunch of cables to hook them up together. What is the best way to connect laptop, mics, MX200, 802, and amplifier together? I am familiar with Home Theater hookup, but this is a bit different. Based on my reading, Here is what I need to connect for audio

Laptop <----[USB] External sound card [RCA] - [1/4" TRS] --> 802

from 802 <--> MX200
 --> AMP --> speakers
        <--- MIC

Here are my questions
1, In between 802 and MX200, what kind of connection/cable do I need?

2. In between 802 and AMP(with RCA), I plan to use RCA audio interconnect cable with 1/4" unbalanced TS adapter.   It should be fine, right?

3. Any recommendations on the cables? Where to buy? I can build audio cable with RCA connectors, so it is OK to use RCA audio cables plus 1/4" unbalanced TS adapters on all the cables I need?

4. Can I use 1/4" balanced TRS cable for the connection of 1/4" unbalanced TS in between 802 and MX200? I think I need both ends of 1/4" TS in between 802 and MX200, am I right? Kind of confusd...

5. Any advatange to use XLR balanced cable or 1/4" TS cable? My MIC comes with cable with one end of XLR and one end of 1/4" TS connector. Should I better go with both ends of XLR?

6. One of my MIC cable was broken a few days ago. I heard that the cable will be broken all the time, so should I better go with wireless? I was thinking of buying the the wired Shure SM58, but a little bit of worry about the cable. This is going to be used at home, so no MIC stand is used. Wireless SM58 seems to be too expensive for me.

I apologized that my questions seems to be not very well organized. I will be working on determining what type of cables I need and order them ASAP. The cost is another concern to me.
