Any interest in their music? I haven't heard anyone other than myself ever sing any doors songs. Personally I'm a big fan. |

Doors are sung occasionally at our show - not the most interesting songs unfortunately but those songs definitely bring back some great smokey memories! (wink wink nudge nudge). Interestingly, age of those singing Doors is usually early 20s....not the boomers who grew up with it. k |

My Friday show is Doors INTENSIVE. We go thru 5-6 doors songs a night. I jokingly call it the James Morrison Poetry Hour... Which reminds me, one guy keeps asking for a Doors song called 5 to 1. I never heard of it let alone see it on karaoke. Any ideas? |

5 To 1 is a great song! It's not attached to Back Door Man on the album, but is in this clip. 5 to 1 starts about 2:40. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOP9Vzzs0V0 Not available as far as I know on karaoke. |

k Same here. And usually "Riders On The Storm", occasionally "Light My Fire" and "Back Door Man", but no other Doors that I can remember has ever been done. Kind of related... the only Stones song ever sung by these guys in their 20s is "Paint It Black". Their memories of music from this period is a little more filtered than mine. None of these types of songs is ever done a lot. |

The most commonly sung Doors here is Back Door Man, Riders On The Storm, Love Me Two Times, Love Her Madly, Touch Me, Light My Fire, People Are Strange & Roadhouse Blues. I used to have The End listed, but finally pulled it as it was getting overdone & just kind of a really stupidly LONG song to begin with 8 minutes. Wish more Stones would be done. Paint It Black & Wild Horses are about the only ones. |

I had one guy that came in and did the Stones (and very, very well) years ago but for some reason it is not popular now. Maybe there should be a movie done (Like Across the Universe for the Beatles) with Stones music to revive it. Funny: I can never understand what Jagger is singing - imagine my surprise when I read "gin-soaked bar room queen" for the first time. I had NO idea what the heck that line was until I read during karaoke. k |

One reason I like the Doors songs is because they're easy to sing, not challenging vocally. Paint it black is the only Stones song so far that I've pound that I can sing. |

As for the Doors, I hear them sung a bit. |

My Monday gig gets some Doors action. There are many 70's and 80's rockers in the crowd. Come to think of it many of the Doors songs are sung by 20 somethings. |

k For years in bands I sang it "gentle bar room queen" because I thought that's what it was. |

Literally, I have 2 guys that vie for the right to get in Roadhouse Blues and LA Woman every week. They then follow it up with Light My Fire and sometimes 20th Century Fox or Back Door Man. Another guy (that is usually Alice cooper intensive) does a kick a$$ Alabama Song. People tend to go crazy for all these songs... Go figure... |

That is wild. I never imagined the Doors were so popular at some places. As far as mangled lyrics go, I used to think Dude looks like a lady was Do the Funky Lady, OLOLOLO couldn't believe it when I found out! LOL |

Checking it out now... good stuff! Since I've been doing karaoke I've noticed quite a few words I've been singing wrong in all kinds of songs. Most don't make it into the "funny" category though. Just the "wrong" category. |

I've sung "Riders on the Storm" and I've heard a few other Doors songs for karaoke. The version of "Riders on the Storm" that I sang (I've only done it once so far) didn't have the last part where the title is sung 4 times--I don't know why they left that out! I sang it in the usual key an octave higher, BTW! |
