I am thinking about putting together a home system and had a few questions. I will be running everything from my laptop.

Question 1. I don't want to have a PA system in my house. How do I combine the audio from my laptop and mics to play from my HT speakers or TV speakers?

Question 2. How do I prevent from blowing my TV or HT speakers?

Question 3. Are there any good dual wireless mic systems for under $150?

Question 4. Is there a way to send the video to my TV wirelessly?

If I have 2 wired speakers and the audio from my laptop, does this mean I need a mixer with at least 3 channels?

Prevent blowing the HT stuff that is not designed to handle live vocals - answer a separate pa or dedicated karaoke system. Or just never turn it up when you are singing. Well your laptop is 2 channels right there. 2 wired speakers? Or two wired mics? If it's mics then you'd need 4 channel mixer minimum - you'd also want built in effects for the vocals. as far as channels, or inputs. You need one A/V input for your laptop, and two microphone inputs, or channels. Mixers usually differentiate between the two types on their description. It sounds like you don't want to spend alot of money, so you will never sound professional. Singing through regular speakers sounds like S**t, and they will blow when you turn them too loud. I agree with the person who recomended using a second set of speakers built for live vocals. There are many mini-mixers available that will suit your needs, and not cost too much. As far as the microphones, you will get what you pay for. If you are looking for affordable, ace karaoke has a couple of VHF mics for around $100. Personally I think they, like most mics, don't sound nearly as good as mine. There are many karaoke bars using these cheaper mics though, and seem to get no complaints. Hope this helps, Felix the KJ

MTX's TP112 speaker is the one speaker I know of that a) is driven well by the 100w/channel of the typical home stereo amp and is 2) reasonably priced and 3) sounds good. I own a pair and use them for my living room practice area (where my wife and I practice together). They sound good enough to gig with, and they work real well with both HT amps and a powered mixer.
