Any of you know around 1981-1982

Used to demo laser disks

Do you recall around 1981/ 1982 an Eastern guitarist that was one of the first laser disk concerts ?  I'm trying to recall who it was I saw.. Fusion guitarist, likely NOT japanese because he was playing in a noticably eartern musical mode.. Perhaps Tibetian ? Nepal, or Malaysian ?  Not sure... This was a display used in the bouthique audio stores used to demonstrate laser disks.. and this guy was either chinese or some far-eastern amazing fusion guitarist.  I know he played in an eastern mode quite abit.. Can't think of the name !!  Been bugging me for a long time ~  This was among the first of the concert laser disks..

I don't think he was dressed in Western-type attire either, more of a white robe, and he appeared older .. LOUD hard fusion rock tho. He was internationally respected, yet this was MY first time hearing far-eatern fusion comp which was pretty Western in some ways (the modes used were more whole-tone, and eastern type modal scales)..

Is there a means of finding the first 100 laser disks issued within the United States by Pioneer ?

ADDED IN after extensive search:

I'm wondering if it's this guy

Masayoshi Takanaka..

Was he on a 1980-1982 laser disk ?  If so, it this guy

It's a vague recollection that the person I'm thinking of was a tad more abstract, and not quite so "westernized", yet I might be wrong...
