OK, this is REALLY annoying me. I need a name for my business (been working as just cash-in-hand and want to go TAX legit.
I feel like a dumb kid making up names for their stupid clubs. I've been thinking for over a month and still coming up dry. The worst part is, that I'm a creative, I'm meant to be able to do this sort of thing, I create, manage and maintain brands! But I can't be objective where I'm involved.
I don't really want to just use my name, I like to keep thinks a little separate in life. Sure everyone knows me and who I am, but on paper I like a little separation.
So, have considered "Opus Karaoke" (opus as in an un-named work) but few people will get it. I also want something that will lend itself well to brand design (cards, flyers, etc).
I'm into my cards, so anything involving "Aces", "Joker" or whatever would work well I guess. I dunno, I don't want to sound too cheesy!
Man, I suck at this ![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Hmmm, certainly food for though there, thanks jamkaraoke. Full House karaoke is good because of it's implication of a busy environment...
I'm not 100% set on having to use cards though - was just a suggestion.

Although my name is not prevelant at gigs it is one of the best. Cabaret Karaoke...The actual name is not important but you want something that will shine on search engines. As of now I have a web site which ranks high on search engines.
I recently advertised in the local paper All I said was Ollie and Greg will be doing karaoke. The average customer will not associate you with a name.

Exactly - to people I'm still just Nik, this is the person/face/character they know. Just looking for something that can be used for search engines, directory entries and promos ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

How about Nikelodeon Karaoke then? The different spelling should help you jump to the top of search engines for your word...

My fiancee is also trying to come up with a name for his business. This is my opinion on it - I have been "Monkey Business Karaoke" for years. People could careless the name of my business. If you asked half the people in the bar what my business name is they wouldn't know. What they remember is my karaoke name. To them it's "Karaoke with Babs". It cracks me up when people ask me what all the monkeys are for. I have several monkey's because patrons have given them to me through the years.
There's another point. I picked the name because I want people to think of doing karaoke as being fun, not because I liked monkeys. ![LMAO LMAO](./images/smilies/emot-LMAO.gif) I have hundreds of them.
I think your karaoke name should be part of your business name or your karaoke name added to the business name like - Classic Karaoke with Karyoker. They may not remember your business name, but when they come in they certainly will remember your karaoke name. If you have someone working gigs for you it becomes just Classic Karaoke.
I guess my point being in my experience the business name isn't as important as you think it is. When you first start a karaoke business the fun creative part is coming up with a name. Believe me I spent way to much time picking a name later to find out people don't care. It isn't because I don't use the name. It is plastered on everything. My monitor, books, pencils etc...
Now everything says "Monkey Business Karaoke with Babs" after hearing people refer to me as "Karaoke with Babs" for yrs.

Monkey boy LMAO go figure. I like both names. Boom is cool too. Just be ready to be called that for many yrs to come. My real name is Lori, but everyone but my family refer to me as Babs. If you go with Monkey boy be ready to receive monkeys galor as presents LMAO
Being a Monkey Boy you could also use Monkey Business Karaoke. I would not care.
It's a big world I don't think our names would cross paths.
Boom Karaoke might be neat. You could use graphics with explosions.

Yeah, think we are far enough apart to not confuse our brands
I like Monkey Business, really do. But something about Boom just comes across as big, in your face and fun. Would lend really well to a brand "Boom Karaoke with Nik"...
Also, just thought, I do have a rival (no longer in business) called Buzz... Would annoy him greatly ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

If you use Boom as your karaoke name I'd go with just Boom Karaoke. With a name like Boom you could do a killer logo. You could even start your show with a fire works video.

Allstar
Let's get ready to RUMBLE ...... :D
That sounds professional and top rate.
We have a member on KS whose name is Alstar. It even makes for a good karaoke name.

You would be joining the crowd with "All-Star Karaoke". I know at least three others named that. If it is unique in your area, it should be good. But before you print up too much stuff, I would check....
