First gig with djintellegence actually used the qoute generator where they enter the number of guests and hours. It was less than 50 guests and 3 hours at a vets club in Loveland. The quote was $120. (mybe the quote is low but we will be there with business cards) She just called me on the phone from Denver and I jokingly told her it should be more from gas prices. She laughed and .said we will take of you... While on the phone which is another feature she paid the 120 into my Paypal account. If you do parties I would recommend djintelligence It Is $95/year but well worth it. If you would like to check it please out visit my web site.. |

$95 a year for a program that told you to quote $120 for a 3 hour gig ? What's the benefit with using this program ? From what I understand you don't a program to open up a paypal account? As far as a quote generator all you need is a written contract. I don't think anyone should need a progam to tell you what to charge. The only formula for quoting is quote as much as you can and still get the job. ( of course there should be minimums) $120 is a BAR price --not a private party price no matter how many Biz cards you hand out. |

I try to start a positive thread with new ideas . In one post it is immediately turned into a bashing thread.. Personally I am tired of it... |

I think if it is beneficial to you, use it. Although the $120 to do a show caught my eye too. That seems low. Is there a way to make a minimal charge for you to do a show. I think your time is worth at the very least $200 to do any job. Maybe it is the amount of guest that drove the price down? I don't know how it works, but what if there are more people there than they said would be there? No bashing intended - just trying to understand the low quote. |

That quote seems really low to me, too. The program seems cool, though. So you can just put in whatever numbers you want? So far, I've kept my private party rates pretty simple--$75/hr with a 3 hr minimum. Weddings are a different story. Iv'e never really thought about charging different rates depending on the amount of people. That might be something to think about. |

That kind of bugs me about it. I figure my time is my time, no matter how many people are there. I still have to pay for the same amount of gas, still have to setup and tear down and my time is the same. I'm not familiar with the program, so I could be way off base here. Karyoker where are you? |

Okay I went and checked it out. Wow do they offer a lot. I think if you tweek the settings you can avoid a low rate going out, but it would be trial and error for while. This would be a very proffesional add on to any website. |

Reread the original post. In the phone conversation I opened the door for more hours and more money. If I had to go to midnight I will walk out of there of there with $500. What part of business and giving bids do you not understand? |

I think you misunderstood me. I was wondering if the quote given is determined by how many people were going to attend. and if so is that something you can change in the settings? |

Karyoker- I think you are misunderstanding questions for attacks. You to us are now the expert since known of us have used it. It looks pretty intrique, so of course we need you to answer questions about it. Unfortunitely your 1st post made it sound uninviting because the quote was low. We just needed it explained that there was a reason and that we are actually able to set our own prices. I think it is an excellent service for a professional looking website. A lot of people may have questions to find out if it is right for them. You would be the person to ask because you use it and posted about it. |

A quick setup for 3 hours on a Sunday aft. 4-7 and I will walk out with about $150 which is about $150 more than you will be making...
This season I will make 3-4 grand with outside parties. Usual price for all night is 500-750... $150 for 3 hours? Wow, guess I overcharging at double that. |

":$150 for 3 hours? Wow, guess I overcharging at double that. " For a small private party gig...birthday/anniversary/graduation that type of thing ....for 3 hrs, if I was charging $300. First of all, I wouldn't get ANY business and Second of all, I'd feel like I was totally ripping the people off if I did get a call. I try to provide a good service at a fair price. Now for a wedding or a higher class party, yes I can see $100/hr...but to my little redneck butt...$50/hr is still pretty good $$$ MrD |
