Hi, I've been visiting this site for quite some time. I've learned a lot from all of the postings. I have always enjoyed singing in the shower and in the car. I thought I could sing good when I was a teenager, but then my voice changed and I stopped singing. I never knew that I had any talent at all until about three years ago ( I was 51 years old then). It was four in the morning and we were trying to sing with a Magic sing microphone. I was scrolling through the songs until I stopped at "When a man loves a Woman" by Percy sledge. I had heard the song before, but never tried to sing it. To our amazement I was able to sing the first line "When a man loves a woman' fairly accurately. I worked on the song for many months. Singing in my car. The only place that no one can hear me. Last Christmas, I sang the song in front of about a hundred co-workers at the Christmas party and did a decent job of it (I made it all of the way through the song without my voice cracking). I do a fairly good rendition of "When a man love a woman" by Percy sledge. "With or without you" by U2, "House of the rising sun" by the Animals. I am currently putting together a laptop computer system for my home.  I am constantly searching for songs that fit my vocal range (what ever that is). I love singing and hope to write some songs of my own someday.

Yeah, karaoke is addictive and it is easy to become a karaokeholic.  If that happens, there are no 12 step programs.  To get relief you just have to find a karaoke song and sing it.

Keep up the practice and send us a song on the showcase.  It'll be great to hear an islander in amongst all us mainlanders.
