I heard recently that Sam Ash actually makes Samson, or are part owners.
#1 Is this true?
#2 In general, can they be any good for the price?

I bought a Samson Stage 55 wireless headset ($149), and a friend of mine has a Nady that cost about twice as much. I have just as good, or better clarity onm ine, as he has on his.

I was just wondering about their other stuff (speakers, amps, mixers, etc)

Samson is associated with Zoom products. Samash is a distributor but then so are many others.
I personally don't care for their products much.

DBK,
Lon is absolutely correct on this!

And I would put thier quality in the upper 1/3 of any product line out there..

EXCEPT Wired microphones. The rest is good stuff Maynard.

The wired mics are ok.. They just are on the same line with SM-58's
I call them "Average"

Ya get what ya pay for. :D

I agree on the Samson wired mics. They tend to be too susceptible to popping noise.

Wow- I never thought they were that decent!

So, theoretically, a dual 15" Speaker tower with 1" horn, for $235, is not as bad a deal as I thought, huh?

metalgod,
ok think about this.. I give SM-58's to drummers who I don't trust my
SM-57's & Sennheiser Drum mics to on thier snares & toms.

Go Figure! it's like my "Drunk Mic" for my Karaoke Singers & metal bands. :P

Metalgod,
These drummers don't have the control that the pros do.. I see alot of them.. unfortunately (at least in the live setting) so I have to use 58's. In the studio I use the AKG 1000's and sennheisers and other hard to destroy mics but much higher quality ones.

It's been doing fine for me, Karaoke and small bands live. I started with an 8 channel Samson mixer, but have since expanded to a larger and different brand(I did lose a channel on it while I was still using it) The wired mics I tried sucked! They fell apart after several weeks of use (not abused) Now I strictly use Shure's except I'm trying a Nady wireless now, so far so good.
