Oh yeah. Here's one I got because I saw it sung in the singing thread by MandiLynn. I was looking for ideas over there.

Gunpowder and Lead - Miranda Lambert.

Darn thing gets sung just about every night.

I get a lot of stuff. The ones I've listed stick out in my mind because they're sung regularly by more than one singer.

I try to keep up with the latest songs in the recent months i have brought sunfly karaoke kool 21, 22, 23 and will get 24 this week and 25 when it comes out. I will also get a cd if a regular wants to sing a song it. I try to keep them happy, everyone gets bored singing the same old song and i try and get the singers at mine and the wifes show to broaden there song base. the first night that peolpe found out that i had "Alicia Keys - No One" three different girls all withgood voices wanted to sing it

Normaly i only add new country from chartbuster, not sure im going to buy the new multiplex yet. I do have sara borrelies (sp?) "love song" at the top of the "to buy" list as ive had a few requests for it. it will happen in a coupple weeks. I don't buy the monthly updates just to have everything, I only buy the disks with at least 3 songs that I think people will like. last one was the nov 07 disk, I do buy the annuals but they have a bunch of good ones on them.

that last disk has:
"International harvester" (rednecks love this one)
"Cleaning this gun" (ive got an 11 yo girl i needed this one)
"shift work" its a catchy song

There are a few other good songs on it too, but these are the 3 that I was sure would get sung.

SC 9012 and SC 9015.

I did "Silver, Blue and Gold" by Bad Company at my last show and there was
a couple who performed "Gone, Gone, Gone" by Alison Krauss & Robert Plant.

Last bunch: The metal from Finland (Hevikaraoke, all four DVDs), and their Iron Maiden and Pantera DVDs as well - paid a lot but totally worth it. Then Eva Cassidy on Zoom. C/B Country April 08 (for Better as a Memory and Last Name and Learning How to Bend - we have a Gary Allan fanatic). S/C 2434 (Somewhee Wonderful) with the Kamakawiwo'ole version of Over the Rainbow/What a Wonderful World), PHM (now SIN) with She's a Hottie, Every Other Weekend, Every Day by Rascal Flatts (mostly women singing R/F - too high for a lot of male voices). C/B POP 3 Hits of 2008 - Touch My Body, Love in This Club, It's Not my Time, Finally (Fergie), Stop and Stare, Realize (Caillat), and Teenage Love Affair (Alicia Keys). Don't have it right here, but another with "No Air" - is that the Jordin Sparks duet? CrushCrushCrush by Paramore (getting lots of play) and "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis. FINALLY.... S/C 9001 Legends of the Blues - mostly for me, for Tell Mama by Etta James, and Move Over by Janis Joplin.

Won't buy music for a while now except by special request.

k

If you've got a situation where the place listens to new stuff Karen you might want to try the Leona Lewis song too. I have three gals who do it. The one who nails it the best had the room just smokin' with it last week.

It doesn't sound like much of a dance song but it is.

Funny you should mention that, Bill - last night there was a big 21st at our place and one of the attendees sang it - it was really very good. I expect it will be one of the more popular songs. I constantly have to remind people to "check the front of the book for new music" - inevitably someone will come running, arms waving, saying, "I didn't know you had THAT song!" - well, honey, if you open the book, check out the first few pages, it's ALL there.... Geesh. Could NEVER do a show here without books!

All the metal heads were at the Iron Maiden Concert last night - so I got a rest from Pantera, but I'm sure they'll be back next week...

Well no I wouldn't have posted that if I were kidding. Again I don't listen to new music all that much & that is the absolute last reason that draws me into a karaoke club. I go for sounds quality, how the how handles their rotation (including allowing customer discs), the club, drinks mainly.
