OK.. I use laptop, with Digital Entertainer software. I have it set so I get the lyrics playing on my laptop AND on the singers screen monitor.

My question is this... is there a way and how would I set up a secind monitor that is viewable by audience, (NOT ME or SINGERS), to show slides of ads, or trivia, notices on the club, etc???

Thank you :)

Use an additional computer.

On a desktop, I would have suggested ANOTHER graphics card and run IRFANVIEW...

But laptop, 3 independant displays? Hmmm, can't see it happening really :(

Well Im a bit confused... I dont understand why you would need a screen with lyrics on your laptop monitor? Shouldn't that screen be the audience screen? There is no need to view lyrics over top of my program, when Im not the person singing??

So when these companies advertise TWO SCREENS, they actually only mean one screen for singers, and then your laptop monitor?? Why are there cdg adverts available if nobody can see them but the KJ or the person singing at the time - who would need the LYRICS on screen, and not the adverts?

So your singer/audience display is exactly the same as your laptop display? Almost sounds like you have the output set in a dual mode rather than extended desktop where you can put the lyrics on one screen for the singer/audience & your laptop will only display the hosting program.

No, I think what Dan is saying is he has a small lyrics screen on his laptop screen along with his hosting software, a second monitor with only lyrics for the singer (so he would be in extended desktop mode) and is looking to put a "second" external display (third screen if you will) to run ads on (no lyrics) for the audience.

Don't know if that can be done...maybe Karyoker does have an idea though...look into it.

No.. my singer screen shows the desktop, and my laptop shows the program itself. When I play a cdg, the lyric screen shows on the singer screen, as it should... my laptop displays my program, but there is another mini screen (that can be stretched) that is a duplicate of the lyrics playing on the singer screen.

If I add a second monitor, it will only display the same screen... not the slide show of ads, which is what I want on that screen... plus, it wont show up the ads because it runs and makes the program on my laptop unuseable while that display is running.. so I cant look up next song, singer, etc...

I heard of a slide show program that runs independently, but not sure how that would work either.

This is what I was describing in my statement above-your singers monitor is an extension of your desktop and displays the lyrics when a song is played

This is what I am not sure can be done unless by adding a second monitor and having your desktop also extended onto that and finding a program as you describe that can be set to only display on the second monitor. Hmmm maybe it can be done
I use Cavs SPCDG player for singers discs but also have the screen running on my singers monitor all the time with different pics and ads that show up inbetween karaoke songs (the lyrics screen rides on top of the Cavs screen ) I am sure it could be set to display only on a second monitor...take that back, I am not sure and couldn't be until I had tried it...I think though you would have to have a second video out on your laptop.

I just run a slideshow underneath the lyrics screen so when the lyrics are finished, the slideshow appears until the next song begins. This is viewable to the entire audience.

Make your life easier and just use another computer. I have written several slideshow programs, they are a dime a dozen. The trick is taking the time to make the slides. They have to be visually appealing or they get ignored.
