I have a friend that had all of his Pioneer Laser discs converted to MPV files He wants to use a hosting program that plays MP3G files. Is there a way to convert MPV to play in MP3G format? He currently uses winamp to play them, but would like to use a hosting software like MTU or Compuhost to play them through so he can load them into the rotation. He is looking at compuhost due to the filler tunes feature as well as karaoke. He would like to play these files with their program if possible. I told him when it comes to the different formats, I'm totally lost when it comes to conversion or compatibility. Any Ideas? |

OSTAV SPECIFICATION: MPV is a standard for exchanging and playing collections of digital music, photos, and videos among consumer electronics devices and PCs on CDs, DVDs, memory cards, harddisks, home networks, and across the Internet. As of now, One could change a Pioneer karaoke laser disc to mpv, but not MVP to MP3+G! sw00000p |

MPV is a video format/container - not dissimilar to AVI or MPEG. MP3+G is 2 files - an MP3 audio and a CDG data. DG is NOT video - it's data that is interpreted by the correct software to render very simple animations (including the lyrics). Video files do not "understand" the lyrics they show - it's simply a number of pixels that are coloured differently at different times. As such, MPV -> MP3+G is a logical impossibility. |
