[font=verdana] I use a 13” TV for the lyrics display, but like to use a PC monitor on my table for queuing up the next song. I understand that I need a converter to do this, I bought one, but it only lasted about 2 weeks with only limited use. Does anyone have a recommendation of where I could purchase a good one, or is there another way to do this?

What are you using? Laptop/desktop?

Most laptops will have a VGA out on-board.

depends on the videocard you're using with what you want to convert.

Some are built for other LCD optons, such as the ones with DVI output as well as S-Video. The DVI cards usually come with their OWN DVI-VGA converter, or a lcd monitor in many cases accepts DVI inputs!

[font=verdana] Sorry, should have stated what I am using. I am not running from a computer. I have a CAVS 203G player with a HD attached. I hope, in the future, to get a lap top and figure out what all you veterans are talking about, but that’s in the future. . I just need to figure out what type of converter, and what brand would be durable, to run a PC monitor on my table. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Why does it matter to you if you're using a TV or a monitor? I know the monitors are a bit more compact but they cost more, as well!

I don't think it's a matter of brand so much as bad luck for the converter, Modern electronics die when they die. Unless you bought the converter at the dollar store it is likely that you just got a lemon. If I were you I would take it back to the store and exchange the one I had for another of the same brand and give it another shot.

yeah, it's not supposed to fail.

And personally, I'd be checking with the CAVS folks on specifics!

Actually, monitors cost less, since they don't require a tuner. You can get a 15" LCD monitor for less than $120 street price, and a 17" for $150. A 15" LCD TV costs $230 at least.
