I was given a laptop that has swift elite 4 on it. Though the program and tricerasoft technical support are driving me crazy. I work in the Information Technology field so I am not new to computers just karaoke. My problem is the Tv output flashes when showing lyrics. I have a Dell 1525 with Windows Vista Home Premium 3 gig ram, dual core, everything meeting requirements. I have been told the reason the video flashes is due to a driver issue with the 965 chipset and that it will work if it has the latest driver. However I know of myself and another person (different type of computer running vista business) who can not get this problem solved. All the tech support from swift elite says is update drivers and it will work, then goes into we must not have installed the driver correctly. I am wondering if anyone else has had this problem or know a work around. Hard to make money at shows if your lyrics dont display. Sorry if this has been posted previously. Thanks in advance. |

Was it working previously and suddenly stopped? If so, try new cables. My display started giving me fits out of the blue and I thought for sure it was the display itself. Turned out to be bad cables. Switched them out and all was good again. |

The computer has never worked with this software, I connect the computer to the TV with a svideo to rca cable. The display shows up and everything loads up like it should, however, once you hit play the image on second display just flashes or flickers, it has never worked with the computer. im going to try to post what has been discussed with swift elite tech support. anything you have to try i am willing |

Can you read the lyrics at all or do you just see flashes? Have you tried playing more than one karaoke file? |

It happens with any karaoke file or any video you see the lyrics as you would in preview window in the program however it flashes the lyrics or video for the file, when the picture does flash on, it is showing the right information. i have had no problem with this using other software how ever they say swift elite using different 3d rendering. I could switch to a different program however this one is paid for and i have been told it works well. If you get a chance to read the URL previously posted hopefully it will make the problem a little more clear. Thanks |

sounds to me as if it's Vista period... you could always get a downgrade to Windows XP... sheesh, I HATE Vista. Neighbor of mine has it, and it won't work for anything that's not built specifically for it! |

Microsoft knows that there is a BIG problem with Vista and thats why they are going to continue to support XP. L.W. |

Well, I followed link you provided and read the whole filpping thing and you were right, I do understand the problem. That poor little person Gai is trying everything she can short of admitting that her company goofed. I feel her pain. The problem is not the chip set or Vista or SE4. The problem is the chipset AND Vista AND SE4. Change any one of the three and your problem will probably go away. Without seeing the "flicker" I couldn't give you more than a wild donkey guess about that is happening but my first thought is that a screen refresh is being called after each block is posted to the CDG graphic. Gai came up with an idea that might work but it may have gotten lost in with everything else, and that was to drop your screen resolution as low as you can. |
