I had some new singers come in last night. They obvioulsy had done karaoke before. They came armed with their own tamborines and maracas. LMAO

I asked them how they heard about me. They said a gal on myspace visits karaoke bars all over Illinois and rates them. When they told her what area they were in, she directed them to me. I would love to thank this Myspace Angel, but they couldn't remember her user name.

I just thought this was so cool I had to share.

I don't feel like I am anything special. I work in a small bar off the beaten track. There are many bars in the area that offer karaoke, so it felt really good.

I'll be out there the weekend of 9/17 (some of us from the now defunct JOLT Forum are meeting there for what we are still referring to as our "JOLT Summit"). If you're within public transportation of this area, maybe I can check out your show too.

I admit I'm not exactly in the MySpace demographic, but since those who attend my shows are...I set up a profile just for my karaoke business. (Be my friend! Click my web link!)

I post pics of recent shows, blog about upcoming promotions and giveaways and just last week also got a lead from another bar who found me there about having me come in to do shows for them!

You can't beat the price...and with a little effort it can be a great marketing tool.

I'm about 45 min. from the Piano Bar. The Metra station is right across the street from my bar. It would be the Hanover park stop. I'll PM you. :D

I don't advertise anymore. I have more than I can handle for business. If I did though I would think Myspace would be a must for contacts.

I got it, thanks. Do you know if the train/Metro runs 24 hrs, or it stops running after a certain hour (like the L.I.R.R., Metro North, and the Harlem/Hudson Lines do in NY)?

Good question - It does stop running at a certain time. I'm not sure when the last train goes out. Here is the website: www.metrarail.com Milwaukee District/ Westline (Chicago to Elgin) The stop is Hanover Park.

http://metrarail.com/Sched/md_w/mdw_wki.shtml It looks like here the last train out is 1:41 pm. I have trouble reading these schedules. I'd take a look yourself in case I've got it wrong.
