I can't seem to find anything. Does anybody know where I an but a decent stand for my LCD flat screen? I want it to be fairly stable and not easily pushed/kicked over of course. I can find a ton of stands for regular TVs, but I am not into lugging one of those around. I use my flat screen and it packs nice and compact and is lightweight to boot. Oh, and the business needs to accept Paypal if possible and ship to Canada. That would be ideal as I don't have a credit card. Thanks in advance! |

I don't know of any stands like they make for crt tv's. Might be something you could make yourself out of a sturdy mic stand. |

Best I have seen is a regular music stand base, with a hole drilled into it. The monitor was mounted to that with a screw. It was a custom mashup, not something bought. But it was light and worked. |

The one of very few I found is one here at AceKaraoke: Click Here It's not too portable but it seems pretty sturdy and has wheels, which helps. I made my own. It's not as good but it's pretty portable and it's pretty handy. You can see it next to my rack. Only limitation I see is that it only extends to 48" max height. I wish it was about 6" taller. Nice thing about being lower is that people can see singer's face but they have to look down when ready lyrics. The base is where I put my little Fender Powered monitor speaker and it fits right there and keeps the stand steady. Hmm, strange. It won't let me post the picture saying it's too large. The picture is below the limit that is stated on the message. Anyways, click to see the picture below. Click to see image |

Eben: That's exactly what I'm looking for! Too bad it's out of stock I wonder if there's any other similar items out there? |

All that looks like is a conversion of a standard CRT stand. Find someone with some metal welding experience & buy a regular one & have it adapted. Still would be cheaper to build your own. |

Might be a niche market for a welder who is quick and wants to market. I know a lot of people switching over to the small flat screens. I'd really prefer to have a cover over it ... May have hubby get out the welder and work on a design. k |

I have seen a couple of different designs but they are a bit bulkier than the one AceKaraoke has. That's the primary reason why I built my own. I customized it so it collapses to about 30" high and extends to 48" max. The base is just a piece oF MDF with carpet covered. Just do a Google search with terms LCD, Panel and Stand, you should be able to search through and find something. |

I used a cheap speaker stand and a cheap wall mount from Walmart. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... rStand.jpg http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... gether.jpg Mounted the wall side of the lcd mount to the speaker stand using conduit fasteners (not sure if that's what they are actually called.) I just drilled holes in the mount to accommodate the conduit fasteners. Wall portion of LCD mount on the pole. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... eMount.jpg Back of monitor unmounted http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee19 ... rMount.jpg |

I don't think it will be that cheap to make on of those. I have seen speaker stands go about $100 per pair, even if you can only buy one, typically you can only get two at a time, it will cost you over $50 just for one stand. The hardware is not cheap, unless you can smith one yourself. Just the bracket that converts ANSI mount on the back of the LCD that lets you attach to the wall or whatever will cost at least $25 and goes up to $200 or more. Unless you can make it youself, this not a cheap thing to make. You may be able to make the whole thing youself for about $100, which means you can probably buy that unit from Acekaraoke, if available. Exactly what i'm getting at, plus this looks ever as stable as the $99 stand & probably cost you less than $40 total - depending on how much the speaker stand ran.[/quote] |

I just picked up 2 On Stage SS7730 Tripod Speaker Stand from American Musical for $16 each. Now granted they are on the scratch & dent rack (fully guaranteed & full manu warranty) so I couldn't pass them up - they are normally $100 each. |

Speaker stand: $30 http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Kustom-Profile-Speaker-Stand-?sku=450330 or http://www.fullcompass.com/product/328195.html Small LCD mount (not the one I used but should work) : $4.00 http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082802&p_id=3613&seq=1&format=1#largeimage While you're there you can pick up a longer monitor cable. http://www.monoprice.com/products/subde ... p_id=10201 Conduit straps from local home improvement store: about $.50 each Nuts, bolts and washers: Less than $2.00 The only work is drilling 4 holes in the LCD mount to fasten the conduit straps. |

I can't believe that there are not more options out there for LCD stands. The Ace Karaoke stand looks like a nice unit and the cost is certainly reasonable. They obviously can't keep them in stock so they must be popular. Every time I went to buy this unit it has been out of stock.. The lower cost home made unit looks good too. The only thing I don't like is the wide stance of the tripod stand...too easy to trip over. IMHO But certainly is a low cost way to go. |

Well this is good info, but I have a question. What do you guy use for the lcd monitors themselves? Do you just use a cpu monitor with a 15pin input and adapt your rca or coax to that? I like the ideas on building your own stand....MrD |

I'm sure you will get different answers on this one but I would probably use S-Video cable as it is very flexible and provides the best signal. |

I ask the question because I haven't been able to find any fairly cheap lcd tvs, only cpu monitors. Just trying to find out what other people use, before I go and spend $. Thanks, MrD |

If it can be adapted, just use a computer moniter. Cheaper! |
