OK I'm back and kinda confused and frustrated. I've got the same feelings of bewilderment I had on the other occasions I stumbled in here.

The whole layout of this place is completely confusing. Hundreds of links, forums within forums, colourful flashing adverts, links to other sites, pop-ups. It's like visiting Vegas on an acid trip!!!

But to top it all is the silly restrictions. I was forced to say hello here in order to begin posting. OK it's a good thing to say hello but I don't agree with forcing people to do it.

Come here you! Stop whinging it's only a head-lock! Now get in here and say hello to the lovely people! And act nice!! :P

OK so I passed that ritual with no problem and I began browsing the forums. Before long I found an interesting thread and decided to add a comment. Uh-uh sorry bud, you need SPECIAL ACCESS to post in this forum!

WTF? Another initiation ritual? I feel like a freshman at Alpha Capa Beta. Toga toga toga!!!!!!

In my day they just flushed your head down the toilet and that was the end of it! :P

Now I feel like Indiana Jones facing all manner of impossible tasks in order to secure some fabulous relic, win the heart of the girl and save the world from the Nazi menace!

Uh-uh did I mention Naziism? I'll get my coat!

settle petal...
you have to have posted in the free areas 10 times
then you can purchase an avatar and gain access to some of the otehr forums
simply pm one of the admin (lonman, jian or webguru)

now stop doing a great impression of a whinging pom n put those toys back in the cot

while you may not agree with the "restrictions" I can tell you that they've helped FAR more than they've hurt.

The one thing the powers that be didn't want is a place like the Singer's Forum where just anybody can join up with a free account, and tell you ya sucked on your last song! And they've had a heckuva problem with the spambots.

Just go to the regular karaoke forum, say a few things, and then go to the User Groups and request access to the forums that require that.

Oh, here's some more points so you can purchase avatar rights... ya get those by posting, opening threads, etc...

MARCO!

LMAO I like your humor Ed.

I believe one of the biggest reasons they started having people post in the newbie section first is to cut down on spam. We had a big problem with that here. Some of the oddities you've found are for good reasons. Like having to say your human in your profile. I thought that was a bit crazy until I was told it was to help with the spam problem.

This is a large forum, so it has problems other forum don't have. Learning to get around here takes a bit of doing, but once you learn it it's easy and well worth the knowledge you'll get from having so many people with years of karaoke knowledge.

We'll help you with any questions you have. Hang in there.
