If neither are there, then the answer would be no. The Chartbuster are going to be much better than the NuTech selection 9 out of 10 times, but even Chartbuster lacks in the pop/rock alot of the time. |

I purchased the same machine a couple of years ago and hate it. It is slow and temperamental and on some of the discs that came with it it will not load the higher numbers so in answer to your question...nah I would never recommend it |

Both my son and I run the CAVS 203G player, and have those same discs in our song library, among others. We have never had any problem with the CAVS player, but the hard drive we received with the first one, has a tendency to freeze frequently. We have since replaced it with two Seagate hard drives. I agree with Lonnie, I prefer the Chartbuster discs, over the NuTech, how ever with the NuTech you are able to have them with or without vocals. One of the thing I like about the Chartbuster is that they give you the key the song is in. I don’t know why more disc manufacturers don’t do that, if anyone knows, please enlighten me. I will add that if I had found this forum, and been able to get some of the knowledge that I now have, before purchasing our two systems, I very likely would have went with a laptop and a good hosting program. I plan to switch over to that in the future, if I am ever able to make any money with my system. I do a lot of benefits, which is good for me gaining experience as a KJ, but it doesn’t put any money in the bank. |

scorp, there's a lot of threads in here about some of the various hosting programs. I personally use winamp as a player ONLY. I also love a dual player format that also does videos for clubdjpro. Others use MTU's Hoster, pckj, compuhost, sax & dotty's show presenter, karafun (player only), and a few others. as with all software and hardware, there are individual preferences. |

Any good program will run off an external hard drive. All programs handle mp3+cdg format (or the equivalent in a zip). My favorite is CompuHost. It is great for a rotation-based show, especially when you have regulars. It has many features, including all the normal ones of any program. The scrolling singer announcement with promo trailer is priceless -- it keeps your singers coming to the stage quickly when called, and promotes your next event, all continously as the lyrics are displayed to the crowd. I have looked at all the major players, and I own MTU, Siglos Professional, and CompuHost. Compuhost is what I use when hosting. |
