What's up, everyone? My name is Marc, and I'm from Fayetteville, NC I'm an Engineer by Profession And a singer by Obsession! I started out in Church Choir. In 1995, I got into a Barbershop Chorus in Wilmington, NC I moved to a larger Chorus in Raleigh, NC I started singing Karaoke in 1996 to meet women. In 1997, I met the one I call my Wife. Problem is, she doesn't sing... On our first date, I won a karaoke contest by singing her a song. It was the same song I sung to her at our wedding reception one year later. (I'll let you guess the song...) The one thing I love about Karaoke is going to a strange town, sing my tunes, and turn the crowd on. Now that I'm older, I hate coming home smelling like the cigarettes that trashed my throat (I don't smoke). And while my voice is dead on accurate, my SP sucks. That's why I'm BIG Marc instead of just Marc. Anyway, glad ta be here! Shoot me a line anytime! |

OK. Call me stupid here... I'm a Civil Engineer that knows how to design and construct buildings, roads and bridges. But I don't know how to record a digital track to upload to the site. My setup is a one-disc CD+G player that can record to cassettes. I have dual wireless mics tied into the karaoke player and the player is hooked to my old stereo from college in the garage. It's loud, but not loud enough piss off the neighbors. Next question, I have about 35-40 CD+Gs but there are a couple of songs I'd like to post that I don't own (Bob Segar's "Turn the Page", and "Behind Blue Eyes" by the WHO). Is there any tunes onsite I can use, or do I need to find myself a disc? Sorry if these seem like dumb questions, but I'd rather as a dumb question and get smarter, than remain dumb... |

that one I can answer...you will see to the left of the screen some karaoke links...some of these links lead to manufacturers who have tracks that you can download for a price. This is a far more attractive proposition than purchasing a whole disc for one or two much wanted tracks. |

if you can record to cassette then you can transfer to your computer from your cassette deck to your computer via the headphone socket to the line in of your soundcard. it may be that you will want to grab audacity (a free recording and editing prog) that will assist you in editing your recordings, getting rid of some of the cassette noise etc...but frankly if you are that good I doubt that a bit of cassette hiss will detract any then once you have learned a bit about audacity and what it can do for you, you might like to simply record straight into your computer, perhaps via a little mixer to plug your mic into |
