picked up a dbx223 crossover I want to try it out would it be possible to just sit it on the sub bring input speaker cable to crossover and out to sub..or do I have to put it in front of the amp.... |

Well they are rack mountable for a reason. Most that use crossovers have them racked in a case with their amps. Technically you can place it where ever you like but the best option is to rack mount it and keep it safe. |

Generally you would stick you crossover between the mixer & amps ie mixerr outputs to the crossover inputs. Low/LF SUM out to the sub amps & high out to the main cabinets amp. DO NOT connect a speaker cable to it. It is a line level only. Do you have a separate amp for your subs & top cabinets? Or are your speakers powered? For testing purposes the unit does not need to be racked. |

Ok then your mixer to the crossover. Crossover high to your main speaker amps, crossover low/LF to your sub amp. select the switch in back to 1X & adjust the frequency to anywhere from 75-100hz. THen you can adjust the individual levels from the front. Starting with both at zero level - if you have to cut the volume of one rather than boosting the other if you have to match. |
