Hi,
I have a decent home theater system including a 7.1 audio/video processor, 5 channels amp, and 5.1 speakers that serves me well with home theater and 2 or 5 channels music listening. I recently add a karaoke player and a 5 years old mixer amplifier to the setup as follow:
Karaoke player audio out --> the mixer amplifier audio in
Wireless mic out --> the mixer amplifier mic in
the mixer audio line out (composite red/white) --> the audio/video processor in (since I don't have the delicated speakers for kararoke, the mixer amplifier has been used as a mixer only).
The background music sounds good but the vocal doesn't seem to match with the music and it seem to be out of phase with the musin (a bit delay, I mean) doesn't matter what listen mode I use, i.e. 2 channels or all channels stereo, direct, pure audio, and other modes
But if I use the mixer amplifier output directly to the front floor speakers and sub, the outcome seems much better in term of karaoke, the vocal is well recieved and mixed well with music background, althrough the music isn't as good as when outputting from the 5 channels amp. This setup serves me fine for a karaoke purpose but I don't want to keep switching between mixer amp and 5 channels amp for the front and sub speakers.
Is there anything wrong with my karaoke player --> mixer amp --> av processor --> amp?
Does 7.1 A/V processor serve for the karaoke purpose?
Will a better wireless mic solve the problem? if so what is a recommended mic?
Will a mixer adjustment solve the problem?
Will a karaoke mixer (pre out) instead of the mixer amp match this setup? if that the case, what is a recommended mixer?
Can I connect the mixer audio line out directly into the two of 5 channels amp?

Anybody help?
Thank you.
Nothing personal, but the only thing I can say is: Do more research and start over. Also, unless you want blown speakers, don't use the home theatre set up for karaoke.

This forum and the archives have many threads about this kinda thing, where folks want to hook up to a home stereo... It's just not recommended for live vocals... you'll blow your speakers over time!
