Hello everyone, I was hoping someone could shed some light on a good karaoke player. I have researched the cavs 203g usb and the rsq neo-e500, does anyone have any pros or cons on either. I am so confused between using a laptop or a player. This will be an added service to go along with my dj buisness i currently have. I dont mind paying the price as long as it is worth the money, however i would like to keep the cost resonable, to cut down on overhead any help would be appreciated thanks

IF you are going the laptop route, I would say BUY the CDG (karaoke) discs yourself and rip them to your PC. Currently the law doesn't allow use digital karaoke, but if you buy the discs you have a better chance of avoiding the karaoke cops rather than thoes that download their music. Plus (imho) It would be better to rip the discs yoursel, that way you know the quality will be good, and you have a backup if the PC goes belly up.

As far as hosting software.... there are several out there, just search the threads on here, and they all have their pros & cons. Try them ALL, the yall have a free preview period, and then decide which one is bet for you!

I like Hoster very much & would recommend, however, it does what I personally need it to do. There are several others that will do more & do less. Download the demos & check them out for yourself. You may find one that will suit yuour needs to a T.

tricerasoft.com & selectatrack.com are 2 good sites. Otherwise I would agree to purchase the cdg's & rip them yourself. This way you'll know the quality of the music - most DL sites rip at 128. For me that is too low in this day of cheap large hard drives.
