I considered doing this last year but our main venue barely seats 100. We have added on a additional karaoke room which will seat 100+..

I do not believe in contests but this one interests me very much...

Okay, I'm not sure what that site is all about, but I can tell you this: it's bogus. On the picture page, they show pics from a supposed preliminary round last year, and in one of the pics "Dave" is supposedly introducing 50 Cent to kick off the event. Well, I was IN that contest, and can say with all authority there was nothing national about it. It was a local contest put on by a local radio station. "Dave's" name is actually Jeff, and 50 Cent was NOT there.

Not to mention, for a "national" contest, that is one of the worst websites I've ever seen.

I don't know what their game is, but they're taking pics from other people's sites, passing them off as their own, and fabricating stories to go with them. Not cool.

Yup If you google U.S National karaoke Association or National Karaoke Association, absolute zilch.

We will see what reports to Google and PayPal do.

Ollie I applaud you for always trying new things.

Contests of any kind would be a regular crowd killer for me. I think it depends on the venue. It seems to work better for venues who don't have a regular crowd, but a new influx of people every night or a bar that doesn't rely on just karaoke to bring in their crowd. If you don't need the crowd that would come in for a contest to show up again I believe it would be fine. Contest people tend to show up just for the contest.

Good luck with what ever you decide.
