Is anyone familiar with a video card that is not only external from the motherboard, but that is designed to be plugged into USB? FURTHMERMORE, it must offer S-video and the ability to send the signal to an "external desktop" |

It seems the only usb video cards listed are vga. You would then need to convert the vga to s-video. If your computer doesn't have s-video out you are best off buying a new computer. |

I haven't as yet checked out the site suggested by Tiggr. I'm asking the question in regard to the computer I'm using for my kiosk (where folks can check out what's in my library and hear a minute clip of the song), and I'm asking only because I had intended to use it as a backup if my laptop failed during a show! When I bought that kiosk computer I was told such a device was available. Now that I've gone back to CompUSA to purchase the card, the very same person who sold me the computer and confirmed the availabity of such a USB card denies any knowledge of such a device! Talk about BS! |

Just checked out the site and there is at least one that uses the VGA out of a laptop for it's video in so an older laptop that only has a vga out would work. Had I known about this sooner I wouldn't have sold my old toshiba laptop and would have kept it for backup. |
