Post subject:  Singers Showcase Technical Difficulties
I'm starting this thread that is for stating frequent, technical problems that are occurring in Singers Showcase only. State your tech related SS problems and give as much detail about the problem as possible. Hopefully the issues will be noticed easier here and resolved.

To view one of the most obvious problems right now all one has to do is pull up the front page on SS: for over a month now the comment counts are NOT showing (big fat goose eggs next to everyone's subs). Many people (including myself) have commented on this but so far the problem doesn't appear to be important enough to be addressed.

Even though I've not been active on SS lately re: subbing and commenting (I do still listen, life has gotten in the way :(), it's very discouraging to pull the Showcase up and see 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 etc. all the way down the page--you actually have to navigate to Page 16 before any comments show up, and the date is July 28!! Kind of a long time for peeps to be complaining and requesting something be done but so far there's been no response.

Good idea for this Don, hopefully something will finally shake loose :hug:

can't access singersshowcase.com at all....

IE 7.0 on Win XP with all service packs........ says Page couldn't be displayed

then I went to http://64.20.49.194 in IE 7 and reached the Apache is running page on the server... tried to go to www.singersshowcase.com a couple more times and got Page could not be displayed.. and finally got thru right now on about the 5th try.

Joyce had asked me if I could get here because she was having trouble getting here.. so it's not just one person or one area... she's in Cali.. I'm in N. Dakota.

The problem that I addressed to Cindy is one that re-occurs frequently especially last month. The page wouldn't load and I'd get the familiar ' internet explorer cannot display this page' screen.. This goes on for about a half an hour before I can get back on again

Foxe - can you access sometimes or not at all?

You trace shows that you are accessing the sever and the IP.

What is your IP address? I will confirm that it isn't one that is blocked.

CatsEyeView - that isn't a connection problem - that is a script problem that doesn't function that causes the 0 or not counting the comments. It will be fixed eventually - but there are other problems that are more important - I will look into that and see what I can do. There were many complaints about the home page being slow and part of the problem was some of the scripting which included the comment count.

Odie - I had already started a thread about this - and I responded to the problems that were listed. Thanks for your help is there a problem that you are experiencing?

From what I can determine (based on the emails I get, the posts here and the PMs) there are very few actual problems.

Hi Phill-
I just wanted to try and provide a centralized location for people to post any particular problems they're having with Singers Showcase only (not so much with the KS forums). I had seen a few complaints in the Singers Forum that may not always be noticed by you.

It did take me four tries to upload a song sub into SS last Wednesday. I kept getting the "connection has timed out" or 'can not display this page" notice.

lol don't you wish you blocked me? LOL.. nah.. I can get here and SS eventually.. so I'm not totally blocked (darn 'eh??? LOL).. it's a weird intermittant thing.. Yeah I can hit the server but the server refuses to serve up the pages for some reason and then all the sudden after a zillion tries it serves them.

I was thinkin that admins could access my IP from my post? I'd really rather not post it publicly.. but if you don't have access to it from the post then I can pm it to ya..

From time to time, I've had trouble getting on SS..sometimes it would take a minute and sometimes a half hour or so. This morning I've been getting this message on every attempt:

Yes i am having the same problem as every one else here. i have windows x p service pack 3, i use window internet explorer . also i have found that i can make a comment to a post and it won't go through, i have to re post and on the second try it will let the post submit,, This problem i have quite often and yesterday i know some one else had that same problem because it was a post to one of my songs and they said i could have sworn i posted to this

I understand your frustration Debbie...I am not able to get into the showcase either.. it's 7:15am pst. I was able to get into the forum by googgling karaoke scene.. My msg is the same as yours:

it appears it was the same world wide...I was listening to subs last night and went to comment on one and the thing went down, I simply curled up and went to sleep cos of still being a bit drowsy after the anasthetic but I had emails overnight from Artifarti and from Pam (britain & chicago) saying they couldnt access.

Phil tonight everything is sooooo freakin slow. Neither KS or SS will load pages first time I keep getting time out messages...is something happening that is slowing the show down?

In 11 months since joinning SS... have only had trouble... 3 times...connecting...to site...cheers...the site is a lot better now..with counter working..and answering problems...
