I have a Vocopro DVD Duet Karaoke machine that started to act up a couple of months ago. I tried using a couple of DVD Cleaning Systems, and it's still having problems. Now it doesn't read a lot of my CD & G discs. I really haven't used it all that much since I got it, but I suspect that the laser needs to be adjusted. Any suggestions? |

I also bought the VocoPro "Professional" dual player. I ended up sending my first one back for replacement becuase it stopped working after less than a week. I also had to send the replacement one back because it stopped working after only a few hours of use. I am waiting for the third one to arrive. From everything I have read, you and I have some expensive paperweights. I do believe yours probably came with a 1-year manufacturers warrenty as mine did (provided you bought it new). Call the toll-free number and get an authorization to send it back. They will email you the UPS shipping labels. I am fully planning on sending the third one back when it stops working a week after I get it. I will continue to do this until they get their act together. In the meantime, may I suggest an older player like an RSQ or Pioneer. I had my Pioneer for years without a problem. We just bought a JVC (RSQ) on ebay. |

What kind of DVD cleaning system? If it's a disc with little brushes on it DO NOT USE IT! It scratches the lens of the laser eye. Have it professionally serviced if you do not know how to clean/align yourself. |

+1 I have the old JVC triple-tray; $300 new back-in-the-day. What an awesome unit. I was thinking of buying a second one for backup from ebay, since they’re no longer made, but dang, this thing, especially with the relatively light use it gets will probably outlast me. I have a couple CAVS units in the rack, so at least I do have backup if something ever did go wrong with it at a gig, but I’d hope I could still get another from ebay if/when that should happen. |

It's about 2 years old now, so it looks like I might be screwed. |

I guess I've been lucky with my VocoPro system from the sounds of things. I've got the Voco Pro CDG 8800 and Voco Pro DA-7909RV all rack mounted along with their dual wireless mic setup and have had limited problems. The CDG player is very touchy to bumps I found out doing gigs where I wasn't set up on a very solid table. Another reason to go laptop. I didn't notice it at home because the setup there is rock solid. I've also had a disc tray lock on me twice which was solved by powering down and back up. Other than that I've been very pleased with the system I have and it typically gets 8 hours of continous use once a month and 4-5 hours continous use once every couple of months. I'm sorry you guys are having so much trouble Ken |

I am thinking that the VocoPro 8800's were maybe made better at one time. I just got the third one back from the factory, played one 20 song disc, put another in and it wouldn't read past track 8. The other side would however. After powering down (after it froze) 8 times, I was able to get the first side to play again. This is exactly what happened the first two times I got the player. I don't expect the player to last another hour. I think it's great that you got 2 years out of it. I can't get 2 weeks. Our $40.00 player made for kids keeps on going and going and going.... |
