I know what you're thinkin! but listen guys I can not believe that anyone gets better singers than me. I recorded 8 new singers (17 in all recordings) last night as well as my 8 regulars, this was within a 2 hour period (normally 3 hours but England were playing) the place was packed (Wednesday night) What talent, you could ask me for any song between 0 & 17 and each song was brill. I am surely blessed. Nowt to be big headed about, I have great gear and it seems to attract great singers. I LOVE MY JOB |

Does having good singers mean that you have the best karaoke? I personally judge a show by the community it creates around it, a landlord I assume is likely to judge a show on how much profit it makes, and the nine customers that voted on my poll chose the personality of the host. . . . . a) The establishment (bar, club, etc.) 22% b) Fairness of singer rotation. 22% c) Sound system quality. 11% d) Song selection. 11% e) Personality of the karaoke host. 33% |

So according to your post you had a total of 16 singers for the night? Sounds PRETTY ORDINARY to me. If you had the BEST KARAOKE then your show should have been PACKED with at least, AT LEAST 30-40 singers. DONT SOUND LIKE THE BEST TO ME if all you can attract is a mere 16 singers. Lonnie---how many do u have on a typical night at the T-Bird?? Anyone else how many on a usual show??? How bout our other blow-hards?? What kind of rotation load and waiting list do u have. On a SLOW NIGHT I would have about 13-17. Busy night 25-35....MINIMUM. With ALL SKILL LEVELS PATICIPATING. Now with all levels participating and paryting thier azzes off and having a ball--now thats when you have THE WORLDS BEST KARAOKE!!! |

Good point - you rate 16 singers as a "good" night? This weekend we did a gig at my local - a freebie because the owners were away, paid me to "sit" the pub, so I decided to run it. No publicity, just see who turns up. 25 singers that night. And as I say - this was a "slow" night. Not to hate, but come into a forum with an attitude like yours - not going to go down well 
Say you had a good night, say you enjoyed it, say your gear is fine - but using the word "best" assumes you know our gigs, gear and singers - and can compare. Which you don't and can't! |

BEST SINGERS???? The "BEST" singers are those who are only ordinary at best and get up and sing thier azzes off and the crowd loves them. Many times we get a professional level singer and they get only a polite reception or get ignored. The BEST at KARAOKE are those that take it for what it is and have a partyin' good time and effort at it. They are who the crowd loves and they are WHO ARE IN FACT THE BEST!! You need to get down off your high horse there HOSS and come to figure out that you are not the end all and be all of the Karaoke Entertainment Industry. Sounds to me like you need to get out more and see what other shows are really like. And PULEEASE dont give us that crapp about how you are the greatest in Spain and all of Europe or anywhere else for that matter. Oh and by the way---lets see your website with photos and videos and your venue---so WE ALL can judge for ourselves JUST HOW GREAT YOUR DEAL IS. WHATS YOUR WEBSITE ADDY there sport?? You need to understand just what kind of LONG-TIME ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONAL KJ's come to KS before you start spouting your nonsense. He is in a part of the world I would give my left arm to go back It is near Barcelona. He is not bragging about being a KJ He is giving singers just as much credit. I have good karaoke too because I have 10-15 top singers and yes a good system does attract them. With 15 singers we busted 3 grand (new record we consistently break 2 grand.) in a place that only holds 160. What was your till with your 30 singers? In my fathers house there are many mansions. Do you honestly think karoke on the southern coast of Spain should be just like yours, measured or even compared? |

He has a VERY SHARP website. Professionally design and layout. Crisp, clean and clear appearance and easy to navigate. One of the better Karaoke Service websites Ive come across---very nicely done work by his web designer and self to get thier advertising message out. Only thing I would ad to it is is more singer and venue pics---a bit thin on images. Excellent effort! |

NO NO NO----his headline says he has the BEST KARAOKE IN THE WORLD. A simple and direct statment that implies that he's better than all the rest of us. An explanation of his meaning by that would defuse all this. But coming in here like that just creates the apperance of boasting that HE DOES IN FACT HAVE THE BEST KARAOKE IN THE WORLD whlile all the rest of everyone else are of a LESSER VALUE. A simple statment of clarification would be in order. Unless of course he does in fact want to make it clear to us that HE HAS THE BEST KARAOKE IN THE WORLD. Yes he is proud of his singers. Im sure he has several that are of high levelBut we all know that a Karaoke bar night is a mix of singer skill level. NOBODY has a nite thats just full of professional level singers or prodigys. Im glad that he expresses that he feels fortunate to have a good gig situation. At least that expresses SOME LEVEL OF HUMILITY. So his meaning was clear and nobody makes a blanket, and blunt headline statement unless they want to make it clear that thiers is THE BEST IN THE WORLD and EVERYONE ELSE IS OF A LESSER COMPETENCE OR SKILL LEVEL. PERIOD. So when someone makes such a statement I take it at face value and believe that they meant to say what they said. Plain and simple. |

Nope not compared. But dont dare to presume that he can make a statement that he is THE BEST IN THE WORLD. Thats too over the top. Yes he loves his job. His enthusiam is good to hear about. And I too have been to Spain and would kill to go back and live in Italy. Barcelona is an amazingly beutiful place. Perhaps he got carried awawy with himself and just wanted to spread the good news of his gig. Thats fine. Everyone likes to talk up thier gig. But dont dare come off as being SUPERIOR to everyone else in the industry. Everyone here does their very best to produce a professionally run and operated Karoake show or business. But to claim yourself as possessing the BEST IN THE WORLD-----well there can only be one best and EVERYONE ELSE is second rate-----that is the statement that that phrase makes. |

Hi Guys & Girls The headline certainly provoked a lot of reaction! Do I believe I have the best Karaoke in the world "I WISH" Difficult to say what constitutes the best Karaoke, for me personally I don’t want to attract the piss heads, and I don’t let them sing. I do find because of the quality of singers that I get at the shows (I put this down to the sound equipment and the acoustics & the in between music) that the poor singers are too embarrassed to compete (if they want to get up and sing that’s great just don’t want piss heads) The bar attracts a lot of punters who appreciate the singers. On a Friday & Saturday I will probably get through 45 request within a 3 hour period give or take a few minutes, each of the singers will sing 2 songs on a busy night or 3 songs on a slightly quieter night. Wednesday’s are traditionally quieter. I believe I have a decidedly average voice, but I am good at my job. Wednesday night was a great night I couldn’t believe my luck singer after singer, not average voices, fantastic voices and knowing how passionate you guys are about your Karaoke I wanted to tell the world how good it was and how happy I am to be part of it. | Maybe that night Kurt he did have the best. I know the feeling when all of the magic is there and everybody is at their best. Anyway he does have disclaimers in the post.
Where at in Italy? We were home ported out of Gato after Nice France. My favs were Naples and Trieste. I would just like one of the meals up on the hill.. |

Exactly Brian, and all those punters there drinking is what puts my show into a professional class and eliminates 90% of the competition. To me karaoke is not a religion that requires a long list of rules or commandments. It is a business but can be an art form in the highest and all formats and participants should be appreciated and given their dues although we also tend to repel the tinkle heads. Although finances would not permit anymore as I am a senior on limited income, I would love to come to some of your shows. Have a good one m8t!!! Oliver |
