Hey y'all! Thanks for the answers!
Lonnie - thanks - that's just what I was looking for - something I can recommend to my friend as an alternative to an illegal hard drive - easy to use, easy to set up, lots of songs, looks like it would be a reasonably high quality machine, etc.
I don't know if he'll go for it, but at least I have something better to recommend to him than "spend the next 6 months of your life ripping CDG's"... (Yeah, right... only us KJ's are crazy enough to do that - I wouldn't wish that on any of my friends...
A couple other details - what I meant by "a bazillion songs" was "so many that it's obviously illegal" - I think it was over 100,000...
Can someone give me an idea of what the Chartbuster Essential sets are like - I mean are they like the Sound Choice Foundation I & II, or more like the bricks - do they each have a different focus or what? I'd appreciate an answer on that!
Also, Lonnie, I'm really curious about those collections offered on the Ace Karaoke site with the hard drive you recommended - it looks like all the manufacturers that went out of business - Sweet Georgia Brown, Music Maestro, All Hits, Backstage, Supercore - what's the legal status of those collections - how can they still be sold?
