For some reason the demo version of Hoster won't detect my drive at all. I've clicked on both the import songs and the drive test function and absolutely nothing. It is a blu ray compatible drive and Audiograbber detected it without issue. Is this user error on my part or is the drive to new for Hoster? I looked at the manual and didn't see any way to "add" a drive or force it to detect it. Thanks, Ken |

After more investigation, apparently the installation of the Hoster Demo hosed my drivers for my drive. Audiograbber doesn't recognize it now either I figured by now I'd have my whole collection ripped. I hate technology sometimes. Hopefully I can get the driver situation fixed and get back to trying these things out. Thanks, Ken |

Ok, I tried to update the driver and it said I had the most up to date. I did a system restore to before Hoster was installed and it still has the little yellow exclamation point in my control panel with the error Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39) Click 'Check for solutions' to send data about this device to Microsoft and to see if there is a solution available. After much more searching I found the solution. Apparently Hoster installed a filter into the registry that caused my drive to not be recognized properly. There were instructions on Microsofts website to delete this filter but it does involve a registry edit so if this ever happens to you, be very carefull in there. Oh, and you have to reboot after making the edit for it to be recognized. I re-installed the Hoster Demo, removed the lowerfilter from the registry again and rebooted. Hoster now works fine and detects my drive. It also made a very clean rip of the Chartbusters disc I had screen clutter with from another ripper. Hopefully this post will help someone else. This probelm is not limited to Hoster as it can be caused by several different programs during install from what I read. Thanks, Ken Edited for updated information. |

Had the same issues and before you gave the fix had to restore to factory settings my drive (reformat and reload windows). |
