Just curious if anyone here has had any experience with, or knows anything about a B-52 Matrix (2000) pa system? Since joining this site, I have read about many other brands, but never the Matrix.
Don't worry about slamming my pa, or feelings etc., I just want an honest opinion. Besides I got it for 700.00 (new) so the price was right. I think it is rated @ 1200 watts, with an 18" sub. Should be big enough for average sized karaoke gigs, right?
Thanks, Ron

Just curious how you got a $1,500 Matrix 2000 for $700. That's a very good deal. Other than the sub being very heavy, you have a very good setup. I wish I had one except I don't know how I would transport such a big, heavy sub around from place to place.

It's really a long sad, story, but I'll make it short.

An old friend of the family, bought somewhere between 50 and 75,000 worth of musical instruments on his charge cards, like 3 pa systems, 3 drum sets, bass guitars, mixing boards, and much more. He never played the first instrument, or sang, but needless to say, his mental state is ? He lost his job, and needed money, so I bought the pa from him.
I didn't want to take advantage of a bad situation, but before I paid any more than that, I would have just financed one with musicians friend,(with a warranty) and made payments. Ron

You'll be happy with it. I recommend the Matrix 1000 alot for home use, the 200 will be fine for most club work.

My buddy who has a four-piece band got tired of lugging his huge old system to gigs, so they bought that system.

When he told me about it, I didn’t think it’d be a good idea, but he’s been using it for going on three years now, and he’s very happy with it.

I heard it once and it sounded pretty good; needed a bit more kick, but I think the mix, plus it was live music, not pre-recorded.

Anyways, from what little I know of it, I’d say it would work very well for DJ/Karaoke.

Awesome, Thanks, unhinged and tommy.
I had been mostly using the B-52 with no eq, so now I'm thinking the bbe, and equalizer should really bring it alive.

I love my B-52's. I have the 1000's but I'm wanting to upgrade to the 2000's. At 700 bucks you got a great deal.

The B-52 stuff itsn't badd I would buy a BBE 882i to clean up the sound a bit. It much better that what about 50% of the KJ's use.

I feel a sub is a must so you got a good start.

$700 is a good deal I had the chance to Buy 2 of them at $600 each this year. I just didn't need them. I have 5 setups worth of gear.

I have a bbe 462, and a dod-SR-231 equalizer, in the system which should be ready for a shakedown cruise this weekend.
Thanks for the reply.... :) ......Ron
