(2) 15" OR (4) 12" SPEAKERS? What would be better in a long narrow, noisy room (120' x 60') to fill it full of sound. I like the idea of (4) small speakers because of flexibility, but would the sound be as good as with (2) 15' speakers? I would be set up on the long side dead center. I am curently using (2) 12" Peavy's and I have lots of power left in my amp, but when I crank it up more it just doesn't seem to give me the sound I'm looking for (full and rich). I've tried EQ'ing every way I can think of and to no avail.

Thank you,
mrmarog

Does the entire bar need to hear the music? If not, then 2 15's focused on one half. If so then 4 12" would produce more sound throughout, although i'd probably still opt for 2 more 15's myself if possible. May want to run 1 sub with the 4-12's, but you'll know that better once they are running.

Two 15's with a sub would probably sound great.

I use 2 twelves, with a kick butt sub. I can easily fill a venue that size wtih a complete full sound. I don't believe you can get great vocals out of the same speakers you have the really low range comming out of. Get a nice Sub.

I agree with that long room - 4 speakers spaced out will FILL the room with an even sound. 15" better than 12" only for the better BASS response.
Or as suggested add a SUB to your 4 speaker system.

Can you do 2 12" and 2 15" ?? as long as they are the same ohms ?
Would that give ADDED BASS NEEDED ???

It is mostly because you are using Peavy speakers. You can get Peavy's loud but I don't think they sound anything close to good.

I run turbosound and can easily fill that room with 2 - 12" and a single 18" sub.

I’m pretty sure that would depend on which model of Peavey being used.

If you’re using Turbosound "TDX" (not sure I got those letters right), they’re not “all that” just because they say “Turbosound” on them.

I use two 15” for convenience sake, but as fsapienjr
said, maybe 12”s and a sub would sound better.

Yes Peaveys can sound pretty good (some models much better than others) & dropping a sub under them would make them sound that much better - provided they were all crossed over & proper power was being applied.

7200 sq ft and what is the ceiling height ? You'll very likely need more than either 2x15 or 4x12 configs to "fill that noisy area with sound". Many don't realize how large an area that is !

I'd be afraid to show up at a venue that is a smaller fieldhouse size or NBA basketball court area dimensions without something like a pair of these
