Hi,

Is there anybody in here using the Yamaha EMX5014C? If so, what speaker do you use with it?

Thanks

 I personally do not that use that mixer, but since no one has responded to your post, i have read about it and they have a wonderful video tutorial at www.yamaha.com on its many features and how to use it. It is, in my opinion, the nicest unit of its kind considering its price. It would be perfect if it had better power output of say 500 watts per channel into 8 ohms, then it would match the Program specifications of their very popular S-115v Club series speakers. That aside, it does put out 350 watts per channel into 8 ohms, so that would match the Program specification of the Yamaha S-112v speakers. That would be a nice combo if you would use at least one robust Powered Subwoofer, to round out the bass sound that using 12 inch speakers alone lacks.

I use and love Yamaha mixers.

Actually 350 watts is fine for a S115V, and unless you’re really gonna crank it, it should still have sufficient overhead.

They even sell that combination as a package

Heck, I ran two of those and two PV118 subs on a Yamaha powered mixer (400+400), each speaker getting only 200watts in a bar (24'x72' listening area) and couldn’t turn it near all the way up.

I think the Yamahas are great powered mixers, and with the new compression feature, personally, I wouldn’t even look at another unless I already was using a compressor.

thanks all for the replies. however, I've already decided to go with an active speaker (Wharfedale Pro EVXP15P) and an unpowered mixer MG124CX. A copycat from Vicki's setup :D

Cheers!
