Probably one of the worst manus around.

Why do you need a 'smaller' system for smaller bars. What does your system consist of now?

It's for a smaller 3rd system for private parties (karaoke & DJ shows) and such. just looking for something cheap but strong enough to drive the speakers. My 2 main systems are booked solid so this is just a bit of gravy.

I would honestly look for a a decent quality powered mixer, maybe used off of ebay or something. Never get a cheap no name or crap name brand just to do a side show. If it's bringing you money, make it worth the while & possible future recommends!

For a smaller system for smaller parties look at the EV SX80 -$199 each- and one sub like the SB122 $385. You'll have a nice sound, very light and transportable system. Total cost for (2) SX80 and (1) SB122 is about $800. OR, (2) EV SX100 for about $429 each. That's what I use and they work GREAT! You can get a decent, but heavy speaker from Yamaha, Samson, Peavey and some others for around $225-$350 each. You might want to look into the Behringer B1520 or the B212 if you're on a budget. The B212 is only $150 each. If you're REALLY on a budget the Behringer S1520 is only $100 each at same day music.

The best deal as far as amps goes is either the Behringer EP2500 or the American Audio VLP1500. I will be getting one or the other, I haven't decided. Both sell for around $329 each and both models give 500watts per channel at 8ohms which is a pretty hefty amount. Add a decent mixer for $150-$300 and you have a very good system.

A decent powered mixer like the Behringer PMP300 or the Yamaha EMX512 can make toting around your system a breeze. Either one, pick it up by the handle and walk away. They do nearly anything you want too. Amp and mixer all in one. Behringer is around $399, Yamaha is about $569 new and that's what I use. So far no problems at all and you can get REAL loud if you want, certainly enough for over 200 people easily.

I have a Yamaha MX 12/4 already so I just need some decent power.

The junky american Audio and Behringer Amps can not compare to a quality manufacture like QSC.

I suggest their budget line of amplifers the GX-3 or the GX-5. They are very affordable have a 6 year warrenty and don't weigh that killer 40lbs of the cheap amps.

The Behringer is essentially a QSC copy. It is not "junky" -- it serves at a lot of high-end live sound gigs.

I know nothing of the American Audio, but the Behringer amp is a decent unit in use by a lot of pros. Probably not as good as a QSC, to be sure. But it is not junk.

Why not go with a matching Yorkville amp or power board?

I got to hear the new QSC GX series - nice amps, especially for the price. QSC quality on a Behringer budget!
