I started this is to share info.... to see what others are getting action on, and what I may need to add. I'm especially interested in what you country oriented folks are experiencing. Modern country is something I don't keep up on very well. Anyway, here's mine... songs from the last few months that are being sung most nights and are spread over several singers:
I Kissed A Girl - Katy Perry
Hot N Cold - Katy Perry
So What - Pink
Sittin' At A Bar - Rehab
No one has ever done All Summer Long, a song mentioned by some of you folks before. Not even once. I have been surprised at that. However I have been known to open the night with Werewolves Of London on occasion.
I picked up So What and the Katy Perry songs off SBI. They are usually ahead of the monthlies, and I needed these immediately. It's also a pretty cost effective way of grabbing just what you need.
I don't think So What will turn out to be another U + Ur Hand... the Pink song that's one of the all-time top sung songs in my room, but we'll see. Incidentally, I heard U + Ur Hand as a lead-in on Sunday Night Football last night... a sure sign the song has made it into the mainstream of America. Incredible... here's a song that was banned from airplay in some areas just a couple of years ago.
I Kissed A Girl is a phenomenon that I've not seen before in my 2 1/2 years as karaoke host. It's not just the alt-lifestyle ladies that sing it.
Everyone sings it including the guys. And it's not slowed down.
