After Installing my compuhost cd into my laptop / Some questions in the intial set up is confusing me. One of them is asking me what folder to copy my cd+g's / Should I copy them in my compuhost folder? Or make a folder for them. I have 28 karaoke cd's and I want to put them on my laptop. If I don't answer the initial set up I'm afraid my cd+g's won't go in the right place and I won't be able to go back and correct the mistake. Terri |

No, it's best to designate a seperate folder, preferably off the root of the drive. I simply named mine "C:\Karaoke Files". When ripped all files will reside there, nothing to it. tbreen |

You can relocate and re-index the files at any time. |

Just a query: You all store them in C:\ ? Not a removable drive or such? I keep installs on C: and data seperate. Horses for courses I'm sure - but I just like the separation. |

I keep installs on C: and data seperate. Horses for courses I'm sure - but I just like the separation. I don't. Some people say "external is more reliable". But I believe exactly the opposite. The fewer moving parts and cables, the better. Plus it is just two more minutes of setup time. |

That's why I use a desktop tower, and use internal drives. They're swappable ones that go in a 5 1/4" slot. And if I have to, I can always use USB on the fly. Oh, and no problems WHERE I have them. I don't have a hoster program that wants to know such thing. I just click and go with winamp! ! |

I agree that an ext. drive could be an issue. But my point really was seperation of data and system. On my other laptops, I have a 2nd internal drive (D:) for data. Not an issue - just I assumed everyone did this! |

tbreen I agree with tbreen about separate folders, I have mine setup in a folder for every disc I have. It speeds up the import process by being able to target just one folder in the import process. |
