Going to do the upgrade this weekend but was wondering if any on here had done it yet. Looks like there are a lot of really great features on it.

I have not upgraded from 3.x yet. I am waiting for them to transfer my license from my old laptop to the new laptop and I have not heard back yet (I need to check with them soon) and I am waiting for another mobile gig before I try it out. I know they were working on this issue with WinXP versus Vista issue. I want it to sort out before I spend the money upgrading to 3.x.
If you do upgrade, please let me know how it is working for you.

I have it on my XP show machine - but haven't really used the upgrade yet, still using 3.4, the tower itself is giving me headaches - has died on me twice within a few months & seems like it's about to again so don't want to train the new host on a system that may die again, will wait until I have my new tower ready to go before I launch it at my show. I do have 4.06 now on my Vista machine at home & it's working great. No major issues - even with Vista that I am experiencing!

Okay, good news because I have a NEW HP lappy with Vista on it - am tired of fiddling around with tower, keyboard, mouse, and monitor when I can just grab a lappy and go. Will do the install this weekend.

Did the upgrade to Hoster 4.06 a few days ago and thought everything was fine until I did my first show with it. I have vista on my laptop and I still feel 4.04, .05, and .06 are not compatible. The video still seems to be an issue. Graphics are slow again(just enough to irk you). 4.03 WORKS GREAT and I reverted back to it a little while ago.

I don't use video, so can't comment there, everything else works on Vista as far as I can see.

Hmmm, my KJ uses Hoster. How satisfied with Hoster are you folks, and how do you think it compares to CompuHost? Prefer one over the other, or, is it really not a biggie?
I've played around on Hoster a few times when loading songs for my KJ, and, although I haven't used it much, it seems pretty basic and simple.

for me, rotation isn't an issue. I do the rotation with my slips.
I love clubdjpro for my video and serious dual mixing needs. But MOSTLY I just use winamp for club and home karaoke shows.

Okay, I chickened out on the Vista lappy. Going to install on my PC shuttle. I don't run video through hoster either, have a separate player and a switch. Will let you all know how it goes.

This is what I'm thinking...not so sure I care too much about video. I think I would like to do karaoke night at the dance club scene...where it's dark, wedding receptions, family gigs and small parties, etc. I've gone to tons of karaoke places in this area, and cannot think of one that focuses much on video. Video seems more appropriate at places where karaoke is going on for an extensive period of time, and maybe a sports-bar scene?
Not so sure I care much about the video, or so much the lighting...although, I can play around with lighting a little later.

while I am not a hoster user, I am pleased with what I have with CompuHost.

Alright, did the upgrade - will run it tomorrow night without implementing a lot of the new features, but will work on learning all about those during the week.
I like the marquis feature - figured that out in about 2 minutes. Will no doubt use that. I'm looking forward to learning how to use the singer database dealie since a lot of my singers sing the same songs every time.
Hopefully everything will go smoothly for the show.
