Finally tried the Sm 58 wireless. I think it sounds better than the wired 58..

Yeah, I must agree with you on the statement. I have just the middle of the road shure sm-58 wireless and have been very satisfied with it. It does have a better response, most of it is due to the fact that I have the wired mics on a compressor though and I don't for the wireless....I'm sold! MrD

I had always thought the other way around. the wireless sounds great, but I get better sound through my wired 58s with 500 series monsters. its more crisp than the wireless

That's because of the compression. Use compression with a wired SM-58 and it should be comparable.

We use both and I always opt to use the cordless. Just like the sound better. Though when singing live with band, I really like the corded Audix when compared to the corded SM58.
