Hi all. I'm new to this forum and hope to get help for my problem. I'm using a EV Cobalt CO11 condenser mic that goes through Atus 48V phantom power supply (with XLR inputs and outputs) before hooking up by a XLR to 1/4" jack adapter to Vocopro DAX8 Pro digital karaoke mixer. The Vocopro mixer is connected to Pioneer SA7500 amplifier. The problem - the mic is very quiet when not moved or used; however, when it is taken up, or when voice enters it, there's hiss from the speakers. On the other hand, when a dynamic mic (Shure PG58) is used, there's no hiss (other than handling noise). Any idea what causes the hiss? Can it be fixed? Would appreciate advices. Thanks.

Why would you want a condensor mic for stage use? Typically they are too sensitive & reading what little reviews I could find on that particular mic, they aren't too favorable. Probably not the source of the hiss directly though.
I would put blame either on the phantom power supply or the mixer being it only has 1/4" inputs for the mics - going from XLR to 1/4" could be a culprit as well essentially taking a balanced connection and turning it into an unbalanced one that is more prone to adding more noise & interference - possibly even hiss.
