All I can say, is WOW!

I can understand those who "can't sing". I have heard worse. But karaoke has lyrics, can he not read either?

Why is a bad singer always refer to as a bad karaoke singer. This has nothing to do with karaoke, and it is this kind of mind set that give karaoke a bad name.

No No, He is NOWHERE near the worst singer by any stretch of the imagination ! There are singers that inflict pain when they sing ! Totally dissonant and they yell and scream. That is as bad as it gets.

I haven't listened to this clip yet, but I'm glad this thread isn't about me! I kinda worried when I saw the subject heading...Just kidding. I'm not that bad...am I?

Actually I haven't been out singing in a while. I love to sing, but I love to rest too, and this summer I have been so busy that resting has taken a high priority for me.

I know I am not nearly as a good singer as others, thus I never submitted a song to SS. I sing because I enjoy music in general and this is one way to participate, by singing. I do host KJ gigs and I like that as well.

As I tell everyone who is afraid of singing, Karaoke is 25% talent and 75% attitude. If you have the right attitude, most people will tolerate your bad singing, including mine.

Eben- I would have agreed with you...UNTIL...I watched that clip. All I can say is if you're gonna sing...at LEAST know the lyrics...then even if you SUCK like that guy did- at least you can screw up like you MEANT to! Ya know? He just came off as a sad loser who didn't even bother to learn the words to a song he was using to advertise himself. And the saddest thing was that you could tell he really spent some effort to put that clip together. Wonder if he got a date out of it...and if so....was she a deaf mute? I'm with Vik on this one! I shudder at the thought of him whispering in my ear"always sun ting there to remind me" YIKES!!!!

william hung is a GREAt example of that...can't sing worth a DANG...but boy does he take it seriously...he even choreographs his songs...and though me may not be able to carry a tune in a bucket- he surely know those words to a TEE! Gotta give the boy props for that!

Worlds Worst had to be Old Johnny who used to come in where I DJ'd. He was a many years regular whom everyone grimaced to see come in. He was old and in QUITE POOR HEALTH and seriously declining. He used a walker to get around. Had to carry the mic to him. Always sang the same old Elvis songs in this TERRIBLE GRAVEL VOICE. He got to be in such poor health that he began to lose pee control of himself and peed his pants several times in the bar. Nobody had the heart to chase him out tho and he kept coming back until he finally no longer came around. Im pretty sure he succumbed to his illness. But Dammm he was LOYAL to the place!!. Curiously enough one of the songs he sang EVERY TIME was SPIRIT IN THE SKY. I guess he pretty much knew and that song maybe gave him hope and an uplift. Have to think Karaoke was one of the few things he had left and coming to our bar gave him comfort and enjoyment until the end.

So moral of the story. Be extra kind to the terrible singers--particularly if they are in questionable health. And expecially if they have been loyal to the bar and you the KJ. Just think....it could be that one day in the future YOU are that sickly terrible sounding singer yourself and Karaoke is one of the things that brings a spark of happiness to you at the end.

Well, Something that IMHO I've found to accentuate the first syllable in the term "Sucks" is the narcissistic type, "Look at me damn I love me" person that think they have the moves and expression of Tom Jones, Elvis, or Whitney Houston but there's one small difference, and that is these individuals have a knack for coming as close to a minor second (or one semitone) of the pitch they intend to hit, assuming they don't come that close they will find an even more dissonant pitch to cause even the hair of stray cats outside the bar by the dumpster to stand, but they've sure got the exaggerated moves and self-love thing going on...but also the ability to captivate and astound the audience with just how clueless a concept they have of the (@$%&#!) they are making themselves. Thing is, In their mind, they are Andy Williams with the arm extensions and the twinkle in the eye and even added histrionics they got going as they dramatically make a total (@$%&#!) of themselves.... Now personally, I find this as appealing as the 68 year old 260 lb woman who's 5' 1" wearing spandex or a thong bikini at the beach because at Jenny Craig she lost a quarter of a lb and she thinks she's Brigette Bardot at her prime now..

I suppose in my kappyesque windbag manner I'm trying to say that MY personal opinion of the worst performer is the individual that is making a total a@@ out've themselves and everybody is embarassed by their flamboyance and ironic display except them.. The "Wow look at me, aren't I Gods gift to the stage" type.. You have to wonder what the reaction would be assuming you videotaped them and played back their performance for them... Would their eyes still be tearing from amazement at their self-excellence ?

Being humble is a good thing for all IMHO. Let the talent speak for itself assuming it's there, and even assuming a person sucks, [s]I[/s] they as adults IMHO should have some awareness of their ability in the area they are performing in.. No need to not perform if you suck, but MY GOD... like some things that are total noxious, don't let a silent deadly fart loose in a sunday church service and than stand up and yell out exuberantly, smell that everybody ! Guess who let that one loose, go ahead guess.... applauding yourself...


OK, Just feeling metaphorical and needed to let one loose in here... btw naked performing is much more comfortable then when I was wearing spandex ! and yeah sometimes I get into it, which is WHY I need folks to keep me humble and not start thinking I'm a 10.. I don't ever wish to be the wrinkled 90 year old with the Michael Landon Hairstyle who still thinks he's the highschool heart-throb.. That behaviour should stop before we are 70 IMHO...

OK, I'm going to sleep now, stresful week, and I'm a few bricks short of a poo-poo platter.

My God I remember William on another site that I was on back in 2002/03 and I always commented...Then all of a sudden I hadn't seen him on the site, but one day, I rec'd an 8 x 10 pic of him autographed-How he got my home addy was beyond me...So, I laid LOW, well, I use to be 5' 3 1/2"...till I shed over 170 pounds, now I am only 5' 1"...SO I STILL LAY LOW !!!~ MAN OH MAN !!!~ I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SHRINK...!!!~ WHAT'S UP WITH THAT??? BUT, THERE'S ONE GOOD THING, I CAN STILL DANCE MY LITTLE BUTT OFF AND NEED TO TAKE A FEW MOMENTS REST, THEN, I ALSO TEACH MANY PEOPLE AT THE CLUB SOME OF THE DANCE MOVES THAT GO ALONG WITH ANY SONG!!!~ I JUST LOVE THE 'ELECTRIC SLIDE'-OK NOW I WANNA DANCE....;) I really need to try and sleep!~ :)

I know of some sites that you can submit your 'ORIGINAL recordings and even get paid for it and You do not have too pay to sing on this particular site, if other artists loves your works, they pay *** Y O U *** But, your works have to be originals !!!~ The people you meet on there are in fact very plesant and there are thousands and thousands of individuals who use this site to be 'found'...Have a great morning, afternoon, evening, into the night wherever you may exist!!!~ Nighty night everyone:)
