Hey Mikey, You and I may not agree politically, but you and my oldest son seem to have a lot in common. He's an awesome drummer, his name is also Mike, and he doesn't like the "fair , and balanced fox news", lol. He plays the Danny Carrie stuff perfectly, and this old hippie sure misses having him in the house anymore rattleing my windows. ............Ron

I found this video for all you Van Halen fans out there.

The first time I met Mikey I picked him up at the airport. We picked up his luggage at the baggage claim terminal. We waited and waited for that big mouth at the top of the baggage merry-go-round to spit out his guitar. Finally the last bit of luggage was spit out and no guitar. The smiles we were wearing disappeared and Mikey's face went pale. I looked around helplessly and spotted a window with a sign that said "Oversized Luggage"... we jetted over to the window and asked if there was a guitar, the man behind the counter looked doubtful....after a little digging around THERE IT WAS! We sat down for a moment to catch our breath and enjoy some time just reveling in the new found guitar... Mikey grabbed the case and held it close, I asked him to take it out and play something for me.

This is what he played.

I'm hoping he will record it and submit it here.... SOON! It's a killer song and he plays this like nobody's buisiness.

WOW its Diamond kap !! at first I thought you just threw a link up to a song but when I heard our names in the beginning I was blown away that you threw that up so fast..you have become a singing demon my man...by the way dude, i have listened to quite a few songs you have done and you have come a looooooong way. You are proof that if you want somethin bad enough and you go after it, you get some great results...keep it up Kappy..if we ever get to travel that far to play, im draggin you up on stage for that one :)

That McCain drumming animation is hilarious btw Sheree- Anyway, that's what I've been doing, singing ANYTHING and everything... Yeah, I tried Ice-Cream man about two days ago for the first time and just tried it twice and left it... I saw this post and tried to use some FX and just did it once raw for S___t's and grins. Certainl not the type of stuff that suits me, but I love that song too Sheree.. BTW, Mikey, I wonder if EVH still can play that type lead in his mid-50's ? Somehow I seriously doubt it...If he doesn't have slight stiffness and arthritis I'd be seriously PO'd because that'd mean life isn't fair...HAHAHAHA

I'm trying very hard to fit someplace into the singing realm. I'll be happy if I can end up singing harmony or even third harmony. Fact is I NEVER thought it was possible to learn how to sing if you "didn't have the chords to begin with" one year ago when you folks were the first to EVER hear me attempt this in public.. This is almost exactly one year... (thought I'd be at least as good as Billy by a year..HAHAHAHA), nah seriously, I've learned alot from many in here and I've recently discovered something I was never doing, and that's knowing how to use a mixer, microphone nearfield monitors, and I still need to splurge on AKG K240 headphones.. but I rigged a wireless transmitter going to direct on my JBL surround system and that helps me with balance... I just figured I'd say hello in one of my usual bizarre fashions, and what would be more appropro than this...LOL...

Anyway, I've been singing at least three hours a day for a year, but I'm not doing solfege, arpeggio's, scales and the other stuff I hated with instruments..LOL (barring the solfege of course)... Don't want to get into Hannon and Bach for the vocal chords...blech..LOL..

Anyway, I've never left the site, I'm just not posting much since I don't have much to say, I read, and sing... This is a midlife crises project, by year two... I plan on having made some progress... I'm not so sure that being a "cover" or "clone" instrumentalist helps musician that has always been a non-singer to become a singer... This project has been tougher than anything else (and all else this tough I quit long before the first year), but I REALLY want to do this.. It's why I joined singing sites to begin with... To hang with singers and in time MAYBE something would run off...

Only folks that have ever heard me attempt to sing are you Internet friends on this site K-solo (where I started a year back), and Singnsnap... Nobody in the real world has ever heard me, and they aint about to :) First I have LOT's of learning to do, and I'm not singing on any stage unless Jian is there to throw eggs and tomatoes at me, I still have a reputation to keep ! I haven't forgotten my roots as "The prototype of the Badsinger".

Anyway, hope all is well... I need to listen to a few songs in the showcase or Cletus and I will get our butts kicked by Charming..

Well it was a song initially, then I joined in and sort've changed the terminology of what one might categorize that as..HAHAHA

its great to hear from you old friend, and I think you are doing great !! Im always lurking around singsnap ( a buddy of mine Guns68 is on their too) I was in a band with him and he is a great rock singer. Hey, what happened to the video part of the site..all i get is a weird Dr Who kind of artsy display pattern. I remember I used to see you in videos there..is it still possible to watch you sing as well as hear you?
