"IKARAOKE" it was $9.95 for 1 song ........ IS THAT RIGHT ????
I've never seen 1 song for $9.95

I don't know what they are doing there, but you can get that song for under $2.00 at karaoke-singles.com.

Yes, Yes, and Yes (as far as I know it is legal).

The download comes in ZIP format. They have a huge selection. Whether it is legal to perform the songs I download at a show, I don't know. But without some help from the world copyright community, something I don't see coming soon, it is all a big grey area anyway. Some people would say only original CDGs are legal.

Karaoke-singles has two versions in it's catalog, DK and JVC. I'd go with the DK.
I'd get deb's Karaoke renamer to change the underscore dashes out of the file name though. http://www.debssoftware.com/

Jees, do people still like them? I've had that song since 92 & have never heard it done, however someone just did The Right Stuff 2 nights ago. They are coming to Tacoma Nov 11th, I am so pumped.............. :vomit:
Funny thing is they are not even close to being sold out. AC/DC is coming on the 30th & sold out within 3 days.

Check out mp3gstore.com they have about the largest selection of mp3g's I've seen in one place all legal too. While there check out the kiaa site for what is legal and what is not for karaoke companies. I saw this guy on ebay selling his 330 karaoke disc collection for $300.00 he didn't need them any more because he bought a hard drive for 499.00 with 129,000 songs on it. Best I've found on ebay. Remember kiaa is asking clubs to be compliant by March 6th 09. If you have it on your computer you better have the original discs for that system or reciepts for the download. Just doin' my the to help keep karaoke piracy free.

Anyone ever downloaded an mp3+g from itune store? It's $0,99 per song and $9,99 for the whole cd  They have Zoom and many other brand and it says, "clear graphic" so I guess you also get the graphic part???

I just purchased a song from KaraokeIsland, and it was in a propritary format. (and also expensive at about $5), but it was the only place I could find that had the specific song I wanted. (Human by The Killers).

THe format was an MP3 and a .Txt file with the lyrics. Somehow the software they provide apparently makes the karaoke work, but it is not funtional on other software.

I did manage to retype and sync the lyrics using KHPro to create a .CDG+mp3 file but that is a lot of work for a song that I already paid a lot for.

Just a warning for those that may not know any better.

I was suspecting that they did not sell .cdg+mp3 versions of the karaoke but now I know for sure.

Micky:
I went to the website but couldn't find any information about mp3+g songs to download. I am taking it you mean itunestore.com?

If you could tell me more where to look I might try it just to see what's up with it.

Yes, I meant itunestore! You need to search using itune and type "karaoke", I see many disk from Zoom, SC and more... all tracks at $0,99 and the entire disk at $9,99, now that's cheap!! I did order an entire disk from zoom where it said "clear graphic" but I only received the mp3 files  I wrote them to inform I never got the graphic part, so they gave me a credit and will see what went wrong... It does say karaoke

My understanding is you get only the mp3. By clear graphic, they mean what you see on the screen. No text -- clear.

There were a couple songs on Amazon available as karaoke. I hadn't found otherwise, and I made my own version.

EMusic also has a large selection of Sound Choice, Zoom, etc. Their price is $11.99/50 songs/month. They are also without lyrics. It wouldn't be good for commercial karaoke but you can test drive songs before you decide to buy the real thing (although you can do that for free on SingSnap, etc.). As a person who used to buy expensive custom discs only to find I could actually only do 2 of the songs, this saved me a bit of money.
