Post subject:  Seeking evaluators for my new DMX PC software

I have completed software which I've called Prosurv DMX (Prosurv is my company name). It is PC-based (i.e. run from a laptop). What it does is control DMX-512 lighting fixtures, such as LED RGB lights, LASER's, Gobo's, moving fixtures etc...

I hesitate posting the web site or any details about the product because I do not want to violate any rules on the board. Since, however, I am serious about putting the software out there commercially, I am looking for several well-placed and knowledgeable individuals in the industry to become 'evaluators' of the product (note that I did not say beta-testers, as the product has already been thorougly tested and is virtually bug free--as far as I know)!

My hope is that the 'evaluators' of the product will provide continuing feedback on the operation and use of the product, and also help me decide the price-point for the software. Each evaluator will receive a free copy of the software for use through Jan 31, 2009 (the version has a set expiration date). After the evaluation period is complete, they will receive a permanent free copy of the software (so that's my pitch). :)

I'll be happy to post an e-mail address and the link to the web site for those who are interested in becoming evaluators (if that's OK to do here). Also, I am planning on setting up my lighting and sound gear and recording it on video so that I can put it on youtube later this week. That way, everyone can see the software 'in action'.

Note that the software currently supports the USBDMX interface (www.usbdmx.com). I am planning support for other DMX interfaces, such as the one from ENTTEC and SUNLITE in the near future.

Thanks!!!

If you get it to work with Entec, let me know. I have Entec USB to DMX hardware that I am trying to find best software to use. Keep me in the loop please.

I recently started dmx with a controller. About 1 year so far.
Run it 3 to 5 nights a week.

Will be getting a laptop ( used) this week.

Hope to get usb /dmx hardware soon.

What do you recommend with your software?

Ill gladly give you my feedback.

:D Hi I have build some DMX512 interfacies based on AVR mcu - uDMX comatable and FTDIchip based Enttec Open DMX USB interfaces but with opticall insulation. Also ArtNet to DMX interface. So I would pleased to try yuor software and help to develop and find any problems or do some recomendations to improve it. Best regards : Teo

Once again... READING IS FUNDAMENTAL... or in some cases, Fun for Da Mental.

You quoted the OP from 2008 (not 2005). If you're going to quote someone with a question like that, why don't you quote the person who resurrected this topic (that would be "tera_s")?
