OK so I just had a look at the site. The logo is very nice.
I know you didn't ask for any other critques, but I'm jumping in with both feet hoping they won't get cut off.
The banner at the top of each page with the clickable site menu should be thinner. It's far too thick and takes up much of the web page resluting in extra scrolling.
The over all design is fairly good and it seems easy to navigate but somewhat slow to load.
On your pricing policy page, you have at the top:
Quote:
"Below is a list of our services and prices. There are no special rates or discounts for anyone"
Think about dropping the "There are no special rates or discounts for anyone" part. It can turn off potential clients.
Clients like to think they are special. Telling them right off the bat that they aren't is not good policy, IMHO. You can always tell them that personally later, if they ask.
Also, you say:
Quote:
Light & Special effects included $200.00
Is that $200 extra if the lights are included or is it $200 total if you include the lights?
You could say something like this instead: "Please add an extra $200 if you wish to include our light show." That way it's completely clear what it's costing.
On your acknowledgements page:
Quote:
Im looking forward to the future...2008!!!!
2008 is nearly over. Try dropping the year. That way your page is always up to date ind stays timeless!
Rules Page:
Is there any way you could make your rules seem less harsh?\
Not to be mean, but if I was presented a set of rules like that I would probably get up and leave.
Try not to come off as the Karaoke Dictator.
We're all here to have fun. Try to present it that way if you feel you absolutely must have rules printed out
If you want a copy of some rules I have, I would be more than happy to send them to you for ideas.
I gave up posting my rules and putting them in my books because people never read them anyways and it tended to make it seem like I was overly harsh.
I mean, do you really think the half cut ditzie chick is going to read all the rules before she looks for a song to sing? NO! She just wants to sing her song.
It's rare when issues come up, but I deal with them immediately when they do and the singers learn really quickly. I can pretty much tell who the possible screamers/mic swingers may be when they come up, if I don't already know them (Usually the pushy rowdy guys).
I just quietly warn them not to yell into or swing the mics. When I tell them that it could blow my speakers, they amazingly get it.
What young guy hasn't blown a decent set of speakers in his day and realized what a bummer and how expensive it could be?
They KNOW they don't want to pay for YOURS.
Ok Now for the really bad news. Please don't get me wrong. I'n NOT trying to insult you or hurt your feelings. Please take this contructively.
Ok, here goes:
You REALLY need some one with EXCELLENT English skills to edit your site, particularly your rules page.
You run a professional business and you need to make it APPEAR so as well.
With the poor English throughout your site, your business comes off as an amatuer operation run by someone who isn't as educated as he should be.
Now, I'm not saying that is really the case.
I KNOW IT'S NOT!
But you need to make everyone else realize it too.
First impressions are EVERYTHING.
If a person comes to your site and has to wade through all the grammatical and spelling errors, it's a waste of their time, and they may leave, never to return.
It would be well worth the time, effort, and money, if spent, to get it edited by someone who KNOWS what they are doing.
It could make the difference between gaining more clients or losing them.
Now I know you didn't ask for a site critque, and I apologize profusely if I overstepped my bounds.
I only wish to help you develop your business to its full potential.
I hope you at least see some value in what I have said.
Good luck to you.
Cheers!
