Specifically, I'm looking for: The Zoo (Scorpions) Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath) I Don't Believe In Love (Queensryche) Silent Lucidity (Queensryche) I was hoping to download these today so that I can use them tonight at home. I think they are all available at Sound Choice, but alas, I guess you can only order CD's from them, not download the songs. Of course I already have every song as far as the regular CD version from the original bands (and yes, I buy everything legally, especially because I actually want the CD and not some compressed, bad sounding mp3 version of the songs). Sifting through the Google searches seems like it would take hours... Thanks!!! |

SBI Karaoke has only one of them. If you're looking to get them today and you are lucky enough to find a place that sells them online for downloading, you will get them in the MP3G format most likely. If that's not the format you want them in then I guess you'll have to order a custom disc from Sound Choice so you can have the songs on a CD+G disc. Be aware that this disc most likely will be a burned CDR and not a pressed disc. Maybe someone around here that has these tracks can e-mail them to you until you get your legal disc so you can at least practice the songs at home in the mean time. |

The custom disc is probably the best route for you. Most of the download sites are mp3g based at around 128 to 192. Just join the Sound Choice club for $25, you get a 10 song custom disc plus any one current production disc of your choice. |

Thanks! I was just referring to mp3's as they relate to download original music versus buying the CD. As far as these and other Karaoke tunes, I don't really care so much if they're mp3's or other compressed files. That's fine with me. On a sidenote, is "BruceFan4Life" referring to Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden, or someone else? |

But you're saying this is CD only, not downloadable, right? Again, I didn't mean to get sidetracked regarding quality, I just wanted to be able to do these songs tonight. |

www.karaoke-singles.com has Sound Choice for download. Probably the price for joining the european license membership they just joined when they moved overseas. |

Sound Choice isn't very 'download' friendly at this time. |

Probably the price for joining the european license membership they just joined when they moved overseas. I went to the web site and checked out the songs. "The Zoo" sounds pretty fair, looks like a Sound Choice song, but I think I've heard this song better at some Karaoke's, and I know they were Sound Choice too. I would guess it's possible that there's different versions. Not bad though... "Heaven & Hell" sounds really good. Again it's a Sound Choice song, probably the one I've heard out at Karaoke before. Watch out though for that OZP Karaoke version! Couldn't believe it when I heard it, but it was a synth'd song (MIDI tracks)...pretty aweful stuff (sorry don't mean to offend anyone if they're into MIDI songs, just these kinds of songs definitely need real guitars, not a synth). "Silent Lucidity" sounds pretty good. "I Don't Believe in Love" doesn't ever load in the 20 second sample. It just keeps saying Loading... (tried several times on both samples). All in all, good stuff, thanks for the link...I'll probably join and download these for tonight! Dominic |

They have Sound CHoice, Chartbuster, DK, and a number of the top producers of karaoke. |

I'm not saying this one is, but according to Sound Choice they don't authorize for downloads. Maybe their stance has changed but in a recent thread over on their board, this link WAS listed & taken down by the SC Admin. So if it is legal, why would they have taken it down? |

Just a point of interest. Sites such as Sound Choice, Chartbuster, and Essential Karaoke all use the encoding developed by Essential when making custom discs. This means, unless you have a burner that can burn by track instead of by disc, you will NOT be able to make a backup ( which is completely legal, BTW). Speaking for myself, I won't enter anything into my book unless I have a backup. |

I purchased 8 tracks (8 tracks, not 8-Tracks!) from karaoke-singles.com tongiht. They are all Sound Choice tracks and sounded pretty good. No problem burning them either. I simply downloaded them into a folder on my PC, extracted the files from the .zip, and then right-clicked all 8 songs (.mp3 files). On my PC, when I right-click, I get the choice "Add to Burn List" which is a function of Windows Media Player. Then I simply insert a CD (I didn't need the cdg files, just the music), click on "Start Burn" and voila! I have a CD with the 8 karaoke tracks. No problem. I needed the CD so that I could play it in my single-disk CD player, hook it up to my Mackie 20 channel mixer, and fire up the PA. In hindsight, I could've just put the songs on my Pocket PC and played them through there, but the CD route actually seemed quicker and easier. Thanks to everyone! (Where's the "horns up" emoticon?)
