Ollie made an interesting comment during his post to the thead discussing "populations". He offered information about the occupancy levels in the places he frequents. That is probably as informative a piece of information as one can get pertaining to karaoke venues. So what is/are your legal occupancy level in the room(s) where karaoke is performed? For the places I frequent, that number would avg between 80-100 |

Yes, this would be interesting info...I am going to have to check on that number at my club. My club is a Supper Club\Bar\Banquet Room My guess would be about 80-100 (Bar)...just a guess tho and we also get some from the Dinning Room till about 10:00 pm and some from the Banquet Room all night long. (but not everynight) |

Very interesting ! I'm not sure what ours is, but I'm sure we've gone way over it. Friday night was so busy people stood outside. I had to steer people through the crowd over the mic to get to the stage. The patrons weren't moving to let singers through. I literally had to ask the singer in the crowd to wave their hand as they walked through the crowd, so they could be recognized and people would move. Aaarg ! This happens every so often on a Friday night. We've never been shut down or even warned about the problem. |

State or city fire marshals usually require that an occupancy certificate is visibly posted. This certificate states the maximum allowable occupancy for that particular site. |

my largest room is like 250, but ive seen more in the place. its an old ben franklin store converted to a bar and can hold 300+. capacity is set at 250 for security reasons. some law about 1 bouncer per person after 50 people. they never have over 5 bouncers so its set at 250. |
