I've never set up from a laptop to an external monitor/tv via the S-video so I don't know if it's the same as using the VGA port. I just know that when you use the VGA you have to do an FN (function key) in combination with an F5 (or whichever F key has the picture of a monitor on it).

Sometimes you also have to go into your video card settings through Display Properties, Settings, Advanced and find an option that says something to the effect of "force TV detection." Finally, make sure the TV is on and connected when you start the laptop.

Hope these suggestions help!

Use this cable or an equal..

http://www.buyextras.com/6febuprsmato.h ... DAodlyOOSQ

And set the dual display properties so the second display shows up.

Then, drag the output to the second display..

Morgan go to ebay, type in vga to s-video converter, you can either get just the cords, or the converter box. I have a converter box that I just received, (haven't used it yet), but I like this better, because I can connect to a monitor via vga, and simultaneously hook to a tv via s-video, or rca. Hope this helps.

And for the record, I have mailed "Stuff" before. Some to Australia even.

E-mail me an address, as I have two unused S-Video to RCA in the boot of my car..
