oops, i think i may have broken the rules... i made a post to the technical questions forum about 2 min ago because that was what brought me here... a technical question!

anyway, i'm early 20s, live in miami beach, and though i'm not a big karaoke buff (stage fright!), i've sung my whole life (choir, a capella, etc). my boyfriend, on the other hand, is also a singer but a total ham, so he loOoOoves karaoke. i'm trying to figure out the home karaoke set-up thing so that we can enjoy it more together. we were in tokyo together a few weeks ago and ended up having a BLAST in a private room, so that's what i envision for our living room

you had to do it in a private room???..... I can just see the two of you singing on the street, and an old Japanese woman yelling at you "get a room for god's sake".......welcome.....
