I always thought it was a bad approach. But I can understand both sides of it. Back in the olden days when I was growing up (in the 80's), you would buy a record or tape and basically the whole thing would be filled with great songs. You would listen to one side, flip it and listen to the other. Then repeat or change tapes/records. Think about it, when was the last time we've had an entire album that was good like, GnR - Appetite for Destruction, U2 - Joshua Tree, Metallica - (all albums before Load), etc.. I cant think of any since the 90's. Oh well.. Heres the Article Link |

It was one of the biggest public relation fiascos ever.. Sony lost in that operation big time. When the judges started giving them only what they could prove in losses their legal fees were more than returns. Same with ASCAP. Upcoming artists and bands are shying away from this negative publicity. Start hanging out on Myspace and support the indies. I foresee this as the future source for karaoke tracks. I have said it before and I will restate it. I have sang all over the world I have never charged for singing. Once in awhile accepted a drink..I do not have the range and voice I used to have but still can make souls fly. To see the enjoyment in eyes is all the payment I need. |
